SatNav bringing increasing volumes of traffic along road from Webland to Moreleigh
2nd June
SatNav systems are causing increasing volumes of traffic between Marley Head and the Webland roundabout and Moreleigh. This is largely a single track road with passing places and is unsuited for high volumes of traffic (particularly larger delivery vehicles and tourist traffic unused to using narrow lanes). As a result the road frequently becomes blocked, with small convoys of cars preventing oncoming vehicles from leaving passing places in either direction. The alternative route from the A38 (A384/A381) is barely any longer or slower and has the benefit of being two lanes along its entire length (apart from the light-controlled Riverford Bridge)

Roadworks signs present a very real danger
17th August
The permanent roadworks on the Halwell to Harbertonford road are a major danger, not because of their existence, though that is aggravating as aggravating can be - fix the wall and the road, please - but because of the signs advertising the works.
One sign is just the frame! This is invisible in darkness and is hardly better in daylight. No-one seems to have inspected these works on any regular basis. The contractors have been less than diligent in making the signs and hence the works, safe.

The verges are very overgrown and it is becoming dangerous for vehicles turning left into the A381 from the Blackawton side of Short Lane as they are unable to see traffic coming from Totnes/Dartmouth side of the A381. We have witnessed several near misses over the past few weeks.
