Dumped Hippobag of rubble

This bag was dumped at the side of the road on Friday 24 Jan. It is full of builder's waste possibly roofing materials. The bag is causing an obstruction on the public highway as this space is used as a passing place on a single track road.

Sunken road

The road is sinking - there is now a sunken hole in the middle of the road about 2' in diameter and @10" deep. It was mended last year but has reappeared and is sinking again and is now quite bad and getting worse!

Fast running water coming up through storm drain into garden
which is then draining into village road
This is the fourth time in a year that this problem has occurred. Water continues to pour from manhole, often the force of the water raises the manhole cover. The water runs clear when there is no rain, but muddy when it is raining. Water pours out of bank onto road, and then downhill towards village centre, where it can collect if drains can't cope. The village has a history of previous problems of flooding causing the road to be under mined.

Severe erosion on lane caused by erupted spring
12th December
Extensive erosion to lane to Wonwell. This has now become severe in erosion due to Spring Water eruption. Hazardous on freezing weather. The lane would be difficult to negotiate for emergency vehicles as well as public if it became frozen over in the winter months.

Massive suspension destroying pothole
21st September
One of two very large, deep potholes which are difficult to avoid on a narrow section of this road. There are so deep and jagged edged that if not avoided which is difficult damage to a vehicle is certain to ensue. Although the road was resurfaced about a year ago degradation due to water running down the road has been rapid. It will only get much worse if left unattended. Urgent action needed.

A number of potholes have reemerged.
21st July
The tarmac on a stretch of road of about 10 meters has been completely eroded away by running water and heavy traffic going to the beach. There are now a number of potholes a couple of which are large and deep enough to cause damage to vehicles. Cars are having to drive into the bank to avoid them which is undermining the bottom of the bank. The material used previously to fill these holes is quickly washed away by the permanently running water and the debris this causes has made the problem increasingly bad. The condition of this part of the road is very poor.

A large pothole and degradation of the road surface.

This pothole has been filled a number times over the past year since the road was resurfaced. But as there is a permanent stream running down the road at this point (even in the driest part of the summer) any repairs are swiftly washed away and the repair material then causes debris which causes further damage to the road surface. That part of the road is now in very poor condition.

Gulley has been blocked with mud an water running down road. Needs clearing to allow water to pass through correct route.
3rd March
There is a spring at Gabberwell and water was channelled along a gulley. This has been blocked by mud pushed downstream which is acting like a dam. As a consequence water from the spring is coming down that road and past Kingston Plain houses and then down the street into Kingston.

Road sign approaching Torr Cross from Wonwell Beach direction, is directing traffic to continue ("Cross Road" sign). This should be a "Give Way" road sign. "Give Way" road markings are on the junction. Reported to Devon Highways some 12 months ago.
