Vast hole in public highway
7th May
This pothole has been here for over a year. Devon County Council and local farmer have formed a team to fix the road. Many promises have been made. However nothing effective is being done. Today, Thurs 7th May, a huge chunk of tarmac about a foot square has now fallen from the middle of the road into the pothole, which is now over 20cms deep at the edge alone. I suspect it is a matter of days before I and the other 9 residents in this street, or our visitors, postal workers, emergency services etc. will not be able to drive safely to and from our homes. We have all paid our taxes: please, Devon County Council, can you DO SOMETHING?? I shall give my contact details so that you can call me directly.

Horrendous deathtrap of a pothole plus several other smaller ones
5th February
Well over a year now, local farmers and council in dispute- no feedback to other residents in area only hearsay. Dates for repairs supposedly made and variously missed. Bad weather seems to have halted any progress however the road state continues to deteriorate. Truely HUGE potholes - getting more and more difficult to avoid as get bigger and bigger. Huge rocks strewn across the road and mud piling up in centre of road where large lorries and tractors pass down the roads, splashing up water onto the Devon hedge bank and eroding the sides down into the road. Holes water mid rocks everywhere. So very dangerous and filthy for normal vehicles, and tractors or farm vehikces too- to pass along. Have complained on DCC website - NO reply other than a polite "We have received your email and it will be dealt with shortly" comment. Feeling fed up and ignored- hello Council????! Ps can only pick one category below: however need to click Mud on Road/ Slippery surfaces ;debris in Road, multiple potholes, single potholes all various sizes and depths and street cleaning and trip hazards, oh and flooding....mMore a question of what category not to include.... Come on DCC......I have already written my car off in this lane due to floods and potholes- how much ore damage do we have to tolerate before something will be done??

Potholes and edges of road broken and missing
8th December
The lane from Preston Fork to Capton and onwards towards Woodleigh is in a dreadful condition. There are potholes and the edges of the roadway are missing due to the heavy and continual farm traffic. Highways have known about this problem for a long time (Years) and still nothing has been done. It will not be long before somebody has wheels go down a pothole and suffers serious damage to their vehicle because the potholes fill up with water and become invisible. This problem needs to be properly fixed and it is URGENT !! Please note that the residents of Capton need notice before work commences because the lane from Capton to Preston Cross is our only means of access.
