Missing road gulley cover 50x50cm killer hole.
23rd March
The metal road drain cover is completely gone with just a large square hole. It could quite likely kill or cyclist or motorbike rider. It seems lethal and would be right in their path.

Old speed limit signage not removed.
21st September
The A39 from The Apple Tree to the Cannington roundabout has a new 40mph speed limit. Near The Apple Tree (Hotel?) "50" is still painted on the road, and I've seen at least 3 of the old 50mph roadsigns are still in place on this stretch of road. This will surely cause confusion, and I doubt the new speed limit could be enforced.

Trees flanking Peartwater Road obstruction
debris and flooding.
There are a row of trees flanking the road to the right as you go into Peartwater Road. These used to be maintained and were just a hedge but have now become enormous. Regularly branches break off into the road and the leaves and debris in the seasonal fall block all the drains causing severe flooding at the top of the road at the junction. Cars park along this road and regularly are hit by branches. This also narrows the road at this point making collisions with parked cars and obscures the view of oncoming traffic. Children walk home along this road from school and an accident is unfortunately only a matter of time. This is a residential area but tractors and large machinery use this road regularly as we are a rural village and large parts of trees smashed into the road is a weekly occurrence. These large overhanging trees need to be reduced again to a manageable level before the inevitable happens.

Blocked drains x 2
23rd November
These drains have been blocked for weeks, causing water to run along the side of the land and flood across the road. The amount of water is going to cause a big hazard to vehicles as the temperature drops below freezing this weekend. The amount of water will wash away any salt. This is already an accident black spot

Highway culvert blocked
16th November
The blocked culvert is causing the water to back up on the upstream side which forces it to flood over the road, where it ponds and causes a traffic and pedestrian hazard. This is on Barford Road, near Barford Farm at grid reference ST 23288 36615.

Sign post pole left damaged.
26th July
Location has seen multiple car accidents recently with cars over turning. A sign post has been knocked over, and left protruding from the ground at a 30 degree angle facing traffic. If another car crashes at this location, the pole has the potential to cause serious harm. As per other report near swing, posted as road has seen multiple accidents recently, highways are aware of the issue, but have done nothing to mitigate the issue.

Large gully on side of road
26th July
Large gully has formed on side of road, which is lethal if car, lorry, or bike enter it. Numerous accident at this location (10+ this month) recently, but inaction from highways. Even owner has attempted to help by placing fake speed camera at location. Temporary warning signs have been in place permanently for so long that they are ignored. Posted so those who have accidents can inform insurers that council are aware and done nothing to help.
