I am writing to raise concerns about the current condition of Cartwright Drive, Shaw, which has significantly deteriorated and is now posing a safety risk to both drivers and pedestrians. There are numerous potholes and trenches along the road that require urgent repair. Additionally, the road markings have faded and are no longer clearly visible, particularly near Brookfield School, where major repairs are also necessary. Another serious issue occurs during school run times, when vehiclesespecially work vanspark across private driveways, blocking access and causing frustration for residents. Furthermore, the speed limit is not being properly enforced. Buses and other vehicles are frequently seen speeding and often fail to stay within their designated lanes, increasing the risk of accidents. To address these issues, I respectfully request the following actions be taken: Apply fresh and clearly visible road markings. Enforce speed restrictions for all vehicles, including buses. Resurface Cartwright Drive with new tarmac. These improvements will help ensure the safety of residents, schoolchildren, and road users. I hope this matter will be given prompt attention.

Trench & manholes

Trench Cartwright Drive Starting from the third bus stop on Cartwright Drive, there is a trench spanning the width of the road that urgently needs to be refilled. The constant flow of heavy traffic, including buses and HGVs, is wearing it down, making it unable to withstand the load. Despite five years of complaints, no action has been taken. I have reported the issue to highway maintenance and Swindon Borough Council multiple times. Each time, I receive an automated message stating that the issue is being investigated, but nothing ever happens. All that is needed is a layer of tarmac across the width of the road!

This vehicle parks everyday in our cul de sac, owner does not reside in this area, he's always blocking either our access to get into our street, or if someone else is parked there, then he will park in the main road , where buses are constantly trying to get past, the way he parks, if emergency vehicles need access, they can't get into the road

Trench & manholes issues

There is a trench on Cartwright Drive that's needs to be repaired/refilled urgently. This has been reported several times. All the manholes need to be repaired and lifted.
Bus service needs to stop after 10.00pm. This will reduce the noise and buses going over the trench & manholes.

Vehicle parking opposite school entrance.

There is an HGV that persistently parks opposite the Tregoze Primary School and is there over restricted hours of the no wait zone in place. It restricts visibility of children crossing the road and is likely to contribute to an accident. It is especially a problem between 8-9am.

Manholes cartwright drive

Maintenance: Manhole covers and frames should be regularly inspected and maintained.
This has been reported several times on this website and nothing has been done by Swindon council or highway maintenance.
I don't know why we're all paying council tax. If the Swindon Council fails to address any of these issues, it should be abolished.

There is a child abuser living at 26 Holbein court the police and council are ignoring the issue if they dug into it they would find a lot more than just child abuse and animal cruelty at the property

Scrambler on public footpaths

If scramblers therefore restricted to off- road use only. Can Swindon council put signs up stopping them from using the public footpaths. Several people just witnessed a scrambler being driven on the foot path on Cartwright Drive, Shaw.
Unfortunately pictures couldn't be taken at the time, as it happened so quick on Saturday 20th July 2024 at 18.25pm approx.

All the bushes on Cartwright drive are over grown it is really difficult to walk on the foot paths now.
People with pushchairs & wheelchairs can't get passed.

The trench on Cartridge Drive needs to be refilled due to heavy traffic. All the manholes also need to be lifted. An vehicles driving over these manholes is making a racket every time a vehicle or bus goes over it.
Already 8x incidents have already been recorded for these 2x issues, which haven't been addressed yet.Can this be urgently repaired asap.

H g v parking in residential area every weekend
