Traffic Mayhem cause by roadworks

I quote from the OneDirect Caseway website "Cadent are carrying out Emergency gas repair works. These repairs can take time to resolve, but this is to ensure that we continue to provide the safest and most reliable service to our customers." So if this is an 'emergency, why is nobody working on it at around 0815Hrs this morning. Its making everybody late and use more fuel than needed. I have had this happen now before around Wheathampstead and the Harpenden area, and I work in W.G.C and now will have to take a different route. Every time, the roadworks are a so called 'emergency' but if this was true, then work would be carried out 24/7 to remedy the fault. This is pathetic, and just more evidence of 'Broken Britain' yet again.
