On the east embankment of the A1/M
travellers have encroached on it
On the east embankment of the A1/M where it meets the Great North Road or A1000 going north towards Stevenage, a travellers site that is located at Oaklands, Welwyn have unlawfully taken fencing down, clearing huge amounts of vegetation down, including trees and now are storing vehicles and equipment there. The area that has been cleared is approximately 30 metres long by 20 meters wide. This has been going on for about 5 months or so.

There are at least 3 potholes from the first junction of Garden Road with New Road, outside numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 and 2, 4, 6, 8 Garden Road. The potholes have been around since Christmas but getting increasingly worse.

Large pothole between Datchworth & Whitehorse Lane

The road surface from the end of Datchworth to White horse Lane is horrendous & completely falling apart, there is a particularly deep pothole in the carriageway as you just leave Datchworth. This has been like this for some time, it has been reported already several times. Something needs to be done urgently. It is only a matter of time before someone has a serious mishap.

Large pothole (4ft x 1ft) in lane of travel. Has previously been repaired but appears poorly, as this has now opened up further. To the extent that a traffic cone has had to be placed into the hole in order to highlight it to drivers. The cone itself is also deep within the hole.

Deep pot holes along the road causing damage to vehicles

Several pot holes along the road between Datchworth and Woolmer Green. I got a puncture about half way down (where the marker is) but the lower end is worse affected. Several pot holes cover almost 50 meters where the larger ones are almost the entire width of the lane, making them impossible to avoid if there is oncoming traffic.

Cars crash into this pot hole as they do not realise how deep it is as masked by water at the edge of the road.
