Sharp deep pothole

As I was driving out of work today, st Alban city hospital, headed towards batchwood drive the car in front of me, sped up, revealing a pothole/drain. It was so sharp and deep, it nearly popped my tire. I ride a 125.cc

Cabling on the road
23rd June
Cabling between two houses (9 Melbourne Close and end of terraces on opposite side of road) has come away from its guide cabling and now falls into the road. BT have been out today and confirmed its not their cabling. They suggest it may be a TV diffuser wire and advised we contact the Highways Agency.

Since Townsend Avenue was recently resurfaced, the road markings havent been replaced. Consequently, people are parking wherever they want - on corners and at the zebra crossing. As this is near two schools, it is VERY DANGEROUS for the children to cross the road. Please can the council finish the job.
How come roads which are dug up by utility companies have their markings repainted straight away, and council works are left?
