Dangerous and Inconsiderate Parking at Windridge Close
13th July
I am writing to raise a serious concern regarding ongoing inconsiderate and dangerous parking at the corner between Windridge Close and Westfields.
Vehicles are frequently being parked right on the corner, creating a significant blind spot for both drivers and pedestrians. This not only obstructs the view for road users turning into or out of Windridge Close, but also poses a serious risk of accidents, particularly involving children, the elderly, or anyone trying to cross the road safely.
This situation has been ongoing for some time and is worsening. It is only a matter of time before a serious incident occurs. The area needs urgent attention to prevent a potential accident.
I kindly request that the matter be investigated and appropriate action taken, such as:
- Installation of double yellow lines at the junction. - Increased enforcement or monitoring of parking violations. - Warning signage to deter inconsiderate parking.
Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated in the interest of public safety.

Water leak and pothole forming
12th July
There is a puddle in a patched piece of road, indicating a water leak. I don't think anyone has raised this. It's in the same spot where the pavement was repaired before.

Traffic light sensors don't work
8th July
Traffic light sensors on Marlborough Road are malfunctioning, causing significant delays. Vehicles are stuck at a red light while traffic on Victoria Street continues to flow, despite no cars coming from that direction. I waited for two minutes with no change at the junction.

Unclear 'One Way' sign
7th July
At the junction of New Kent Road and Marlborough Road, there's a one-way arrow, but no "One Way" sign.
Drivers exiting the multi-storey often miss this, leading to wrong-way driving. A clear sign could help prevent head-on collisions.

Idiotic parking. Middle of the road.
5th July
This Deliveroo driver left his vehicle parked in the middle of the road for 2 minutes whilst going into the co-op, blocking exits from the parking bays and also blocking the flow of traffic.
When asked to move, he spat out numerous verbal abuse and didnt see the issue in where he left his vehicle.

Incorrect speed limit signage
12th June
For a number of months there is an end of 20mph speed limit zone sign showing the limit is raised to 30mph on cottonmill lane heading south as it crosses the river ver. However the following repeater signs (very small) are 20mph. The first visible 20mph repeaters are past monks close on cottonmill lane heading south and another 1/3rd of the way along prospect road heading west. However google maps and waze both identify this as being a 20mph limit the entire way. The signs are a completely incoherent.

No road markings.
16th May
Since Townsend Avenue was recently resurfaced, the road markings havent been replaced. Consequently, people are parking wherever they want - on corners and at the zebra crossing. As this is near two schools, it is VERY DANGEROUS for the children to cross the road. Please can the council finish the job.
How come roads which are dug up by utility companies have their markings repainted straight away, and council works are left?
