Large accumulation (several years' worth) of tree debris on roads and pavement
28th May
Janson Court RG1 6NA. There is a very significant amount of debris that has fallen off the trees over time and never been swept up/removed. The includes needles and very large branches, none of which have anywhere to go. All of the pavements and the kerbs are full of it. In heavy rain the debris heavily it gathers around the drains and this has led to a problem with blocked drains over the winter months. Also, when the debris is wet, the pavements can be unsafe to walk on. Due to the large amount of debris, it will not be sufficient to send a street sweeper - it will need to be collected and removed in another way.

Damaged kerb
27th May
The kerb stones are damaged causing trip hazard onto road and poor accessibility for pram / wheelchair use.
This is the only narrow access footpath from west Forbury Retail Park to the east of Forbury Retail Park to get to McDonalds. Argos etc.
Also new Tesco store has opened across the Kenavon Drive in the Huntley Wharf housing estate. From the north side, there is no pedestrian crossing to get to the shop. Crossing at the roundabout is much to dangerous with children.

Wide stretch of potholes
27th May
Wide stretch of potholes getting worse year on year on heavily used portion of road. Seems to be caused by a change of surface material at this point.
It is particularly dangerous to cyclists and motorbikes turning onto Kings Road from faster IDR Watlington St.
The heavy buses hammer down this road.

Constant parking on single yellow lines

Cars are constantly parking on the single yellow lines during enforcement hours, causing traffic and congestion. This has led to difficulty for HGVs manoeuvring at the end of the road as well as access issues to the properties there.

Drain Grates dangerous to dogs legs
26th May
There's a few drain grates in this area where the gaps in the grating cover are so wide that a dog's leg could slip down and potentially lead to injury or broken leg. These are a poor design and consideration should be given to replacing with a safer version.

Biffa Bins Blocking Pavement
22nd May
Biffa have once again blocked the public pavement with their bins that were collected from somewhere and have not been returned to where they should be by the female operative. Photos show the vehicle responsible and where the bins have just been dumped. This happens every single week and obstructs the pavement for wheelchair users etc.

Also it looks like the sequence has been changed as heading towards town it was only allowing six cars to go through at a time. Whether this is because you have workers installing new traffic lights at the junction of Hartland Road I dont know but this needs addressing please.

Nuisance behaviour on land owned by Reading Borough Council
21st May
Please can Reading Borough Council take action to stop illegal flytipping, dumping of abandoned vehicles, and antisocial parking by drivers trying to avoid residential parking restrictions which is taking place on land behind the sheltered housing at the corner of Rupert Street and Norwood Road. The grassy area is being churned up into a mud patch.
Enclosing the area with a small fence would do the job, or asking Parking Control Management, who enforce parking on the site, to deal with unlawful parking.
One of the vehicles in the photo, YK64LSF appears to be a licensed taxi, so perhaps your licensing team could speak to the licencee and say this is not really the kind of behaviour expected from a professional driver.
If the vehicles belong to workers at the sheltered housing, this is not acceptable behaviour as there is adequate parking space for them in the car park.
Thank you.

Traffic Lights Pointing Wrong Way
20th May
Junction of Bath Rd, Castle Street, Russell Street. Yet again some bright spark has decided to turn some of the traffic lights to the wrong direction potentially causing a dangerous situation as the wrong direction may see a green signal when in fact that direction is on red. A reoccurring issue at this junction makes one suspicious its being done on purpose by someone wishing to cause an accident. Urge the council to inspect this junction and re-align all the lights to the correct direction.

"Unnecessary" temp lights
15th May
Firstly why does RBC always give permission to various companies to do roadworks without question irrespective of the consequences? I am mainly referring to the current works by TW at the junction of Berkely Ave & Coley Ave. The actual work seems to be in the bottom half of Coley Ave well away from the junction, so why does that justify 4 way temp lights at the junction? They are causing major traffic jams even at night...Doesn't RBC even consider the implications of such operations? Especially the free passage of emergency vehicles. It seems RBC just says "yes" to any application without giving it any thought to any implications that might occur.
