Dangerous deep pothole

Although this is a quiet road for cars, this pothole is on a road that is extremely popular with cyclists. It is several inches deep and approximately one foot diameter. If it is hit by a cyclist going downhill there is significant risk of injury. It has been present for several months and is deteriorating.

Sunken road surface from left kerb to centre of lane.
4th October
The sunken surface is considerable in size and causes one side of a vehicle to drop significantly when driving across. Sunken area is hard to see, as there are smooth sides to the dip, so those who are not familiar with the problem can get big surprise. Also poor for cyclists (of which there are quite a few on the A4)
