Encroachment of vegetation and trees onto pavement
20th May
An longstanding issue. There is only one pavement on one side of the road, which should allow for easy pedestrian access. However, over the years, vegetation has significantly encroached upon this pavement, now occupying almost half of its original width. This has led to situations where pedestrians can only walk in single file, and encounters with others walking in the opposite direction, or those using buggies or electric scooters, force one party to step into the road.
In such an incident my husband had to move into the road to accommodate a disabled gentleman. In doing so, he tripped on the curb, fell, and injured his leg. Unfortunately, the injury became infected and has left a nasty scar.
Furthermore, the trees within the overgrown vegetation require pedestrians to duck underneath, and brambles often snag clothing.
I kindly request that the vegetation along this pavement be cut back and a plan for regular maintenance be implemented to ensure the safety and accessibility of this route for all residents.

Someone seems to have dumped cat litter on the road to make the poor surface one colour. This type of repair is short sighted and Cost the taxpayer more

Phasing of light changes
9th May
There is a 20 second delay in the change of lights from when the last car passes through towards you to when your lights begin to change. This is far too long to allow cyclists through, as seen on another comment. Cars are now starting to jump the red light knowing that nothing will be coming as the wait is too long or thinking the lights are stuck. This has happened three times over the last month when waiting on red either side of the bridge. The amount of traffic at each side of the bridge is now considerable as the wait time leads to this build up. The impact of this at the give way point at next bridge in Bulbourne is also considerable as 20-30 cars can come from the lights at one time with no gaps between them leading to build up of cars alongside the houses- when there is a large vehicle here this causes a stand off as no one can go anywhere- and impatient drivers trying to get through when there is any hint of a space between cars coming towards them! This issue started before Easter. Prior to that the phasing was fine. Please revisit the phasing of the lights.

Works carried out to substandard
23rd April
Whilst works have been carried out in recent weeks the quality of work is substandard for use of public funds and edging to the new surface poorly finished likely resulting in breaking down quickly and certainly not in line with the life expectancy of new tarmac. The works have been carried out from the junction with Station road coming all the way back to Newground road and fresh lines painted indicating no further work planned.
Contractors need to be held to account for the standard of their work when using tax payers monies and these works are quetionable.
