The great cat litter heist
14th May
Someone seems to have dumped cat litter on the road to make the poor surface one colour. This type of repair is short sighted and Cost the taxpayer more
This location is exhibiting unsafe conditions that may pose a risk to public users. Under Section 41 of the Highways Act 1980, the authority has a legal duty to inspect and maintain the highway in a safe condition. This includes either carrying out timely repairs, setting a reasonable inspection and monitoring schedule, or where hazards are identified, providing adequate warning or signage to alert road users all of which form part of the statutory duty of care.
This report also serves as formal notification to the authority, ensuring that Section 58 of the Act cannot be later relied upon as a defence for non-repair, delayed action, or substandard fixes that result in increased risk to the public and unnecessary cost to the taxpayer.

They’re Back!!
2nd May
Last years temporary repair to the failed road surface and numerous potholes has, unsurprisingly, failed again. The potholes are back causing vehicles to try to straddle the road over the worst of this section - in the centre of the road. This driving line is just before a hump back bridge with no vision along the road, putting cars at rush of head on collision whilst trying to avoid the worst of this road surface. This whole section is patched, then fails again, with monotonous regularity and its time the road surface was properly replaced.

I reported these two adjacent potholes almost 10 weeks ago and the largest was 120cm by 10cm deep but the smaller is now about that size and the larger is nearer 150cm-12cm deep. Both of these potholes are almost the length of a car and are now impossible to avoid driving over due to their size.
17th March
These two potholes are approximately half way between the church and the Red Lion pub on the left hand side of the road going down the hill towards the pub. I reported this issue almost 10 weeks ago and in that time it has been inspected twice but no actual roadworks have taken place but the potholes developed at least a month before being reported.
