This is edge degradation but it is on a bend & to avoid it
the motorist must cross into the side of oncoming traffic - dangerous!
After Seven Leaze Lane coming from Upton St Leonards but before the track to cottages on the side of the Beacon - same side as Seven Leaze Lane. As it's on a slight left hand bend in the road, you must avoid by using all the road thus in the face of oncoming traffic - this road is not wide enough to do that without risk of accident! Very dangerous!! This pothole has been in this state for a few weeks.

12th May
Severn Trent Water have been out this morning and dealt with most of our issues - thank you. However they have confirmed the 2 small storm drains on the public footpath are a council issue, and this is still outstanding. The small drain at the side of the house is not connected to any down pipe gully area so is a separate issue. This drain is connected to another small drain but both are retaining water. The small drain to the side of the house is deep and the water is not running away sufficiently. This means there is a constant build up of water which is causing damp build up in our property.
This small drain is not connected to any down pipe whatsoever. Its just on the path which leads into the church. Its not part of our house but the impact of ineffective drainage is causing us problems. This area needs to be looked at to ensure water drains properly either by unblocking anything, if a blockage is preventing the flow away, or by reconfiguring and enlarging the drain pipe leading away from the area to stop this build up happening. Either way it is a council issue and for the council to resolve.
This issues has caused long term damp issues in Court Barn which has incurred historic cost and continues to incur costs as we have to have dehumidifiers constantly on and this has a big permanent impact on our electric cost.

Blocked drain in middle of A46
9th May
Having been told by Highways the drainage issue outside my house was a private issue I got a professional drain company out today to get a quote. They told me immediately it was not a private issue, both blocked drains are outside my boundary and are on public footpaths. He said the man hole cover in the middle of the A46 need to be lifted and an investigation conducted from there as that's where the blockage and issue will be. We've suffered from flooding and damp over the last 20 years because of the storm drain, and just had to have some stonework repaired because of this. Therefore now I've had it confirmed it's a council/highways issue, please can somebody investigate and clear it. I don't want to keep raising this, if you don't believe this to be a public issue, please can you let me know who I need to escalate this to because my neighbours and I need to get this fixed. The problem has been going on for years.

Obscure sightlines
8th May
The sign is on the left as you approach the exit of Pincot Lane where it joins the A46. On one face it has the 40mph sign and on the other the National speed limit sign. It is dangerously obscuring the sight line so that vehicles exiting Pincot Lane cannot easily see traffic coming from the south.

The storm drain is blocked
7th May
Hi - the storm drain is still blocked - it was reported last year. there is also a blockage in the sewage drain under the A46 as for years it had been opushing water back up our shared downpipe which recently split. I've tried reporting this and the initial response I got was to contact streetworks. They have come back to me today to say they don't cover blocked drains they only booking road space. Please can somebody advise what the next steps are before closing this enquiry.

Dorothy Coopey contacted me on 29th of April and asked I email streetworks@gloucestershire.gov.uk, and we did on the 29th of April. A week has passed and they have neither acknowledged the email or answer the question which was 'what are the next steps.' Please can I be provided with a named contact there who can help and an idea of what their service level agreements are with regard to response times. Thank you

Speed limit changes on A46 from Painswick to Stroud
3rd May
The speed limit on the A46 from Painswick to Stroud changed overnight from 50 to 40 mph with new signs erected. Within a day these signs were taken down and new 50mph signs replaced them. What is the reason for this and what is the speed limit?

Traffic chaos
children late for school
Temporary traffic lights on junction of New Street and Edge Road are causing chaos with traffic flow. They are not in sync with the permanent traffic lights further up New Street. Cars are mounting footpaths, traffic is blocking the single lane on New Street causing grid lock. Bus 66 carrying school children arrived 40mins late to Stroud - children late for school. This isn't acceptable.

Unpermitted roadworks problem
29th April
Temporary traffic lights in Painswick causing unnaceptable delays and disruption. An ambulance would not currently be able to access/leave the centre of Painswick without considerable delays, if at all. Th current situation is completely unnacceptable. A person with a stop/go sign would be preferable to traffic lights, as they could adjust the flow according to the traffic. Currently, 2 large vehicles such as a bus or bin lorry, is enough to completely clog up the 'system', resulting in stationary traffic, with all exits blocked. I would also like to know how long this will continue for, as I work in the area and regularly have to drive through Painswick.
