Overgrown trees obstructing pavement
29th April
These trees have overgrown and although members of the community keep them pruned, I believe they are on councils territory and therefore need a good cut right back be pavements cleared to allow for more space on the pavement and therefore safer walking.

Ash Tree located on Highway land problem
17th April
As a result, based on the area that has been cleared at Highnam, plus that that the affected trees in Kilcot Green along the B4221 are within falling distance of the highway I am hoping that our trees would qualify to be dealt with by GCC. While I have no idea how areas where work is to be carried out are decided, the fact that the B4221 is directly connected to the motorway network and carries a far greater volume of traffic than most roads of a similar category should be in it's favour for early attention. While I appreciate that the 25/26 programme may already have been decided, I would be grateful if you can confirm whether or not our trees qualify to be dealt with by GCC, if there is any scope to add it to this year's programme given the location, or if any financial assistance could be provided to help the Parish Council have the work carried out.
Thank you for the offer regarding replanting which, once the ash has been dealt with, we would certainly be keen to take up. Given the ground conditions, particularly in the lower half of Kilcot Green, I understand alder would be a good tree to plant.
Please let me know if you require any additional information.

Pavement over-grown and covered in mud/debris
27th March
A large stretch of the pavement along the main road B4221 through Gorsley has slowly been lost to debris, making it too small and unsafe for wheel chairs and prams. Could it please be cleared back to allow for greater space as it pushes pedestrians nearer to the road, and due to the speed of the traffic in the village, it makes it very dangerous.

Unpermitted roadworks problem
24th March
Hi,
Earlier this morning I was heading towards Gorsley on the B4221. The traffic lights went green but only about 3 cars got to go before changing suddenly to red ( cars in front of me had to pull back over to the left side of the road). Cars came from Gorsley direction and at the same time cars were turning left towards Gorsley from Aston Ingram Road so obviously something very odd with the lights sequence. As a highways agency lorry them did a 3 point turn I assumed the lights had been halted to allow this. After about 10 minutes of further waiting with traffic piling back behind me as lights still red, cars overtook and the whole trail started to go. Many drivers including myself tooted at the workmen ( all stood watching and doing no work) who just simply waved sarcastically. When I looked back in the mirror having passed the long trial that were also halted coming from Gorsley to Newent, their lights were also on red.
There was obviously some malfunction but instead of investigating or directing traffic, the workers stood and watched irresponsibly. Luckily there was not a head on collision or nay emergency vehicles requiring safe road use at this time. When I later came back I noted the number plate of one vehicle was
FL19 and possibly RKR at the end but not sure. Hopefully, you can thus trace the workers and discuss this incident with them.
