Bags of dog faeces
5th April
There are plastic bags of dog faeces hung on tree branches and hedges at various points along the road. There is also unbagged dog faeces left on the grass. The longer the bags are left there on the branches, the more they keep appearing.

Water flowing into cab from unknown location
13th August
We noticed water was exiting the root near where cab and root jointed. We opened the cab door and water was up to the top of the root. We dug down at the lowest point of the site and cut an opening of 50mm x 10mm in the root to let the water out below ground level. Once the water had dropped to the cut out level, water was still coming in through the feeder ducts within the root, however this will now not reach the electrics. To investigate where the water was coming from we opened two feeder duct chambers one still in use, and the other containing 2 x 6 disused ducts possibly from an old telecom tower. The water is coming from this chamber and travelling through the network of ducts leading to the last cab on the hill and exiting into the cab. We tried to empty this chamber but water was still coming in a reasonable rate. We could not locate where the water was coming from. It could be a damaged pipe, surface water or mains further up the hill that has found its way to this point. We would suggest that this is sent to the council for further exploratory investigation. Once all our investigations were done, the water within the cab stayed at about 75mm below the cabinet root joint and was flowing out freely. Some water still remains at the bottom of the root and will remain like this until the source has been rectified.

Footpath problems
19th August
This is supposed to be the Weardale Way, an important long-distant footpath. It's also part of the Camino Ingles from Durham Cathedral to Escomb. However just after the gate into Broken bank the path fragments into several ill-defined tracks into and through the woods, with a nasty stream crossing at the end. Signage and path clearing is inadequate especially for a path promoted to visitors

House is shaking when busses go passed
7th November
Every time a bus flies passed our house the house shakes, its causing some parts of the walls to develop small cracks, the worst being on the stairs. We bought this house last year and have realised its due to the busses passing at speed (usually) and shaking the house. We had the house replastered last year due to the walls being in such a state from the previous owners and they were perfectly fine but theyve gradually formed cracks.

Tarmac and graffiti
13th July
We have just had the road resurfaced at the roundabout and the workmen were supposed to take 9 nights to do the job. They did it in 7 and feel they have rushed the last night as there is loads of tarmac left in the car park and it looks a total mess. Graffiti has been painted on the floor and the roundabout hasnt been properly finished with correct markings. There is also a white arrow which is wrongly been painted on the road leaving the roundabout towards coundon that tells you to return to the 1st lane even though its a 2 lane round all the way up to coundon.

Behind the pizza shop Valentino on Newgate Street in the back lane is a constant mound of black bin bags( open) and piled up rubbish. The issue has been present for many months and i suspect the shop is responsible for filling up other council bins with rubbish/food waste.
21st March
The mound of rubbish always contains food waste which is attracting rats.

Barrier collapsed some months ago
now dangerous again
The concrete post and metal rail barrier above the steep embankment down to the River Gaunless at Rosemount Road looks as though it dates from the 20th century and has apparently come to the end of its life. A temporary plastic barrier was installed some months ago but has now collapsed, and another section of the original barrier is now broken.
Nearest road to the pin placed on the map (automatically generated by Bing Maps): 12 Rosemount Court, South Church
