Broken gate + invisible bridleway ahead
1st May
The latch of this gate is broken. The only way I could find to open it was to pull the whole gate upwards with both hands plus one foot under it to help lift as it is quite heavy. Would be near impossible to do on or holding a horse. Secondly there is no sign on the ground of the bridleway that goes straight on on the far side of the gate. The field has been ploughed and there is now a crop growing and the bridleway has not been reinstated.

Huge pothole
18th March
The pothole made the car in front of us swerve into the righthand side of the road, narrowly missing an oncoming car. I don't know how long it's been there as I don't regularly use that road but it's a hazard and could cause an accident or damage to someone's car.

For two days now I’ve watched people drive out of the doctors surgery and go through the no entry bit of the road
22nd October
I dont know if more signs are needed but for two days at school drop off and collection Ive watched cars driving the wrong way round market square and also driving through the no entry signs. This is a hazard to all the kids to travel to school this way as we dont expect cars to come from this direction. Can more signs be put up or the current signage be checked for obstructions?

Potholes and deteriorating footpath
7th October
A few potholes have formed and currently have standing water in them, at night this is unsafe due to lack of street lighting. The path is also deteriorating.

Multiple deep potholes in Market Square
7th October
There are many deep potholes in Market Square. One, as you can see, is so deep that when cars hit it, the debris in the pothole flies up and hits the single-paned window of our Grade II listed property. The upkeep of the road in Market Square is generally quite poor especially given that there are hundreds of vehicles using it daily to access the doctors surgery, primary school and preschool. This issue has been ongoing for years. I am concerned that our house is becoming damaged, damp has started coming in from the splashes and cars may get damaged due to some potholes being quite deep (7-10cms).

Essential roadworks by National Grid
20th August
Someone keeps moving the road closed signs and cones. Also moving the barriers that give pedestrians safe access round the works. This is causing traffic to drive through the closure, using the pavement resulting in no safe route for pedestrians. Its dangerous and an accident waiting to happen

This is still meant to be a road yet cars are using it to park and block the road and pavement. Also bins are left on the pavement and never pushed inside the garden gate which is very near.

Vehicles parking and blocking pavement
11th July
These vehicles seem to think they bought the pavement along with their properties. Very inconsiderate parking most days making it hard or impossible for disabled people and prams etc. people do use pavements everywhere around the village so its no good thinking its a little used pavement and its ok to park on it.

No temporary path or lighting around the works
1st June
Road closure is being ignored by vehicles so its dangerous getting past on foot especially at night, theres no temporary path provided or lighting. Will be even more dangerous when the schools are back as its the main route for the buses and children who walk to school. National Grid are responsible for the work and aware of the issue
