Another pothole forming.
28th February
Another pothole forming where one has been previously fixed! Either substandard work or practice, these holes should not be appearing so soon after being treated. Its a waste of tax payer money. Report also sent to WCC.

Excessive mud on the road
17th January
From the alkerton turn on the A422 past Upton House and to the bottom of sun rising hill there is an excessive amount of mud on the whole stretch of road resulting in the new cats eyes and painted lines being virtually impossible to be seen. The mud is also a slip hazard. It has become worse in the last few days, resulting in this report.

Continually poor/hazardous road surface
3rd August
Your Fixmystreet system has recently advised that the problem in this 50m stretch of OCC highway has been fixed. I rode this same road today and can only see that one pothole has been patched since my original incident report in April24. The road still has a significant number of random potholes and fissures in the wearing course in places this is deteriorating into the base course and sub-base generating loose aggregate that all present a continued hazard to cyclists. This deterioration has now been ongoing for over four years and a proper repair is now urgently required before there is a more serious incident.

Severe road degradation
11th July
Not sure after a previous report why this has not been highlighted to be fixed? I witnessed a highways inspector marking out other potholes etc on this stretch of road, but the exit from the farm is being ripped up by the amount of HGV's leaving the farm. This is the farm, on the opposite side of the road to the business park. As the county boundaries for Oxon and Warks are literally on this part of the road and down the farm track which CC is in charge?

Signs put back up with speeds the wrong way round.
3rd May
After the original give way sign was knocked down, a temporary one was put in place which is still there. Two signs have recently been put back up but speed signs are the wrong way round. The post on the left as you are looking from the A422 is also leaning over and very loose.

Various fractures
fissures and potholes spanning circa 50m length of both the Oxon and Warwickshire sections of Sugarswel Lane
On 20/4/24 sustained puncture and part damage to wheel of bicycle whilst taking defensive action to avoid large oncoming vehicle on this section of road. This is the forth time I have reported this defect in four years and still OCC seem to think the defects do not warrant remedial works. This incident could potentially have been much more serious, a proper repair would be welcome.

Private signpost dangerously blocking view of oncoming traffic at intersection
8th February
A business has recently placed an advertisement/signboard at the corner of this intersection. As a result, vehicles driving on Sugarswell Lane, when they arrive at that intersection, have their view of traffic coming from their lefthandside blocked. This is very dangerous when attempting to turn onto A422.

Pothole 50cm long x 30cm wide x 15cm Deep
5th January
Pothole is on busy main road, A422. Cannot be seen at night so cars hit at speed. In daylight, cars swerve to avoid, crossing centre line on the approach to a blind summit on the lower slopes of Sunrising Hill. PS White lines worn away badly too.
