Multiple potholes.
31st January
There is a series of deep and sharp edged potholes following the line of a filled in roadwork going down the hill. These are sufficiently big to cause damage to a car and could cause serious injury to a cyclist.

Road Subsidance
17th August
Evidence of road subsidance is clear on both road and pavement. There is also water seeping from the eastern edge bank of dogkennel wood, evidence of subduction. It would appear that the buildings built over the former Mill Pond (see overlay map) filled in the historic water attenuation scheme that the drain (formerly known as the 'Mill Race') fed. This drain now dissipates through the field, under the roadbed, and emerges from the woods eastern bank. At some point the woods root systems will fail to hold the subducted water and a catastrophic landslide will drop the A595 roadbed into the dogkennel wood. There is evidence emerging of this process already occuring. Cumberland Council should commission a Hydrology Report to ensure the safety of road users, pedestrains and the occupants of the buildings established over the former attenuation pond.

8th June
It needs painting with black and then white paint. Calderbridge & Ponsonby Parish have had two such signs painted. Money is being spent to attract tourists to West Cumbria this gives a neglected impression of the area

Drain cover surrounded by deep hole
30th August
On the apex of the bend heading towards the village hall from the station direction, the road surface around the drain cover has fallen apart. This has created a large hole in the road, just where a car would normally drive. This forces cars further out into the road (sometimes onto the wrong side) on a bend. And its even worse for cyclists.
