Turf and debris spread over cycle way - very dangerous to cyclists
20th January
The dedicated cycle track adjacent to the A66 between Mungrisedale Road end and Lane Head farm is covered in turf and mud that appears to have been deposited there by recent snowplough operations. I rode it with my wife on Thursday 16/2/25 and it is very dangerous in its current state. Fortunately neither of us hit any clumps of turf or we would have been thrown off our bikes immediately adjacent the very busy eastbound carriageway of the road

Caravan in residence for a week
26th October
A caravan has been parked at this location for a week. It is a known spot for tourists overnighting in camper vans but this seems a more permanent endeavour with a generator being used. The transit van towing the caravan (KL53 KKG) leaves early morning and returns evening with a lady in residence during the day.

No speed signs
8th September
This section of road has a climbing lane eastbound, unfortunately road users believe it is a dual carriageway and regularly travel at 70 plus mph. The installation of 60mph signs at the point where the road becomes a climbing lane would be helpful. There was recently a fatal accident at the Mosedale junction, I think this may be attributable to this lack of signage, this is an ongoing problem.

Cyclist crossing point for the A66
overhanging vegetation resulting in reduced visibility
Cyclist crossing point (Reginal Cycle Route 71) for the A66, when crossing from south to north side, vegetation overhanging branches etc. on the southern (westbound)verge, to the east of the crossing point, is resulting in significantly reduced visibility of westbound traffic approaching the crossing point, traffic speeds are generally high here. This reduced visibility is a significant hazard for cyclist attempting to use the crossing point
