Culvert beneath A937 almost blocked by debris
8th October
This culvert carries the Burn of Balmaledee under the A937, to enter the old mill lade. It is virtually blocked by debris. When the burn is in spate, the water overflows onto and down the road. Marykirk is known for the flooding caused. The road is closed, vehicles and property are damaged and emergency services unable to pass. The winter season is approaching, when flooding is likely to occur.

Increasing number of potholes in Napier Place.
15th August
There are an increasing number of potholes in Napier place. It is clear that the road top surface is coming away from the base layer. Despite many reports being submitted, Aberdeenshire Council regard this as low priority. Council tax payers deserve better than this.

A series of potholes
17th January
A series of potholes in edge of road, marked for pedestrians. This is outside North Lodge and South Lodge on Main Road. A number of pedestrians have tripped here. Whilst it is appreciated that repairs are prioritised by the Council, this was reported more than five years ago. Can it be assumed that, in view of the time that has elapsed, members of the public would be entitled to claim against Aberdeenshire Council?

Choked culvert under A937
31st December
The culvert and its associated channel are almost completely blocked by stones and gravel. This is causing water to spill onto the A937, resulting in its flooding.( Also endangering nearby properties.) SEPA tells us that local authorities have a responsibility to "inspect, clear and repair watercourses to reduce flood risk".
