FIXMYSTREET IN AB30 1JS
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of AB30 1JS:
Deteriorating road surface and potholes, 25th April
I reported this deteriorating road surface on the entry to the A90 at Fordoun, way back in March 2023. The Aberdeenshire Council enquiry reference was 739996 and dated 27th March 2023. Since then, the entry on FixMyStreet together with photographs has been removed twice by someone. On 27th March 2023, the Council stated that a site visit was required.
The current surface makes it difficult and potentially dangerous to accelerate and pull out safely onto the A90 and with complete control of the vehicle. Coming off the A90 there is long pothole on the border of the tarmac with the A90 creating what feels like driving down a step. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN – PLEASE STOP MARKING THIS FAULT AS FIXED ON FIXMYSTREET WHICH WILL REMOVE IT. IT ISN’T FIXED AND HASN’T BEEN FOR OVER A YEAR.

Larger deep pothole, 7th April
Despite previously reported and advised by Aberdeenshire council that this pothole has been repaired (Enquiry 827005) this is not the case. Walked passed the same pothole today and it is larger and deeper than previously advised. Over 2 feet long and 1.5 feet wide and between 4-6 inches deep.

Excess water on road a hazard, 25th February
Water seeping from springs on Gilbert’s Hill. This not a new issue but need to be resolved ASAP.
This morning the road was like a sheet of ice.
Given that we are now almost at the end of February this message should be taken as advance notice for winter.
There have been previous incidents of accidents on this stretch of road due to the road being frozen.

2 potholes, 27th October
2 potholes which are just passed corner, so if car coming the other way very hard to miss. The whole of this road right down to dual carriageway needs repaired and widened as this is the main route to A90 from Auchenblae since Abbeyton bridge was removed.

Huge pothole and edging of road all broken away, 27th October
Huge pothole at edge of road on blind summit. If car coming other way you can end up in it as don’t see it until upon it. The whole edging of both sides of that strip of road need filled in, as single track when you meet oncoming car at risk of falling of edge of tar as not wide enough.

Potholes and deteriorating road surface, 23rd October
I reported this deteriorating road surface on the entry to the A90, way back in March 2023. The report has since disappeared off FixMyStreet. The Aberdeenshire Council enquiry no. was 739996. However, on 27th March, the Council stated that a site visit was required. I don't believe that this ever happened and no doubt there is a post Storm Babet backlog of work now. This is an urgent repair. The current surface makes it difficult and potentially dangerous to accelerate and pull out safely onto the A90 and with complete control of the vehicle.
