Greasy road surface
24th February
I was driving back from London to cumbria on thurs 20th feb. there was a lot of rain but I wouldn't say it was raining really really heavily. I was driving at 70 mph in the outside lane, I can't remember exactly where but about half an hour south of Preston. Essentially I slid into the middle lane while the motorway veered to the left. I don't think it was aquaplaning and I don't think it was anything to do with my car/tyres which has just had its MOT.
I think it was grease on the road after a two week dry period and now the first significant rain happening. I think you should warn people about greasy roads. I used to be a doctor and had to collate data that would increase risk to the population. I assume you do the same and match accidents with weather conditions including greasy roads. Was there a significant increase in accidents that day ( first rain after two week dry perioD) and other days with greasy condition.
Fortunately there was no-one in the middle lane so there was no accident but I hope that you can look into this data and hopefully fore warn other drivers about greasy conditions

Fallen tree
12th January
Tree uprooted and part fallen, currently supported by another tree, could fall into property or road. It is next to the traffic lights on Liverpool road opposite M6 exit slip road. I initially reported this to the council the week before Christmas but they have only just told me it was a highways issue.

Very loose road surface
16th October
Road resurfacing has commenced on the adjacant road strange road. loose surface or mud has transfered onto gibbons road southbound making the surface extremely loose (felt like driving on ice) this is extrememly dangerous as there is an already hazardous bend, also as it has started to rain tonight this is increasing the danger of driving on this road. There are currently no warning signs in place to warn road users to proceed with caution.

Slippery road surface
9th October
This bend has been the sole reason for accidents. Tractors/trucks/lorries frequent this road which can result in oil & diesel being spilled.
My vehicle span out on this road on 11th September 2024. Luckily there was no irreparable damage or anyone else involved.
Please be cautious driving on this road in wet conditions

Side barrier completely overgrown.
20th August
Hi, I noticed that the safety barrier down the slip road of J25 is covered in overgrown bushes. It is so overgrown that the safety barrier is completely hidden by bushes. Is there any chance that this area could receive a cut?

Majority of lighting not working.
23rd July
Hello, I have attached some pictures showing that most of the streetlighting on the J25 slip road doesn't work. Is it possible that these lights could be fixed eventually and improve safety. It's been like this since winter. All non-functional lighting probably just needs a new lamp (bulb). Thanks

Overgrown bush on central reservation
11th June
Hi, I have noticed that there are quite a few bushes on the central reservation at J25's slip road that are overgrown. These overgrown bushes may result in larger vehicles on the inside lane needing to swerve to the side slightly to avoid hitting them directly. This currently isn't a big problem but they'll get bigger as time goes on. Hope this was useful information.

90% of lighting not working on slip road.
7th June
Hi, I don't wish to complain but almost all street lighting on the Jct25 slip roads don't work. This slip road isn't part off a smart motorway scheme so it hasn't been effected and forgotten by the scheme within the area. I am interested in street lighting and hope that you fix the current lighting and not replace them to LED. They just need some new bulbs. I would be grateful if these lights could be fixed eventually, Thanks

Potholes on J24 M6 South
4th May
There are deep potholes at the top of the slip road at the traffic lights on J24 M6 South. The road surface that crosses the motorway North & South on Liverpool Road also needs attention as there are deep ruts and potholes on this part of the road as well. The damaged road surface has been there for a while and is getting worse.
