Not enough speed limit signs
21st May
For several years this road has not had enough speed limit repeaters. The signs should be spaced at regular intervals. After the change of speed signs there are only a small number of repeaters and there are long stretches of this road between them.

Tree obstruction to narrow path causing danger to life
15th April
Elderly lady nearly tipped out of her wheelchair into oncoming traffic because tree is preventing safe passage. Road narrow and very busy including a high volume of traffic and farm machinery (some road users ignore the speed limit). Car stopped to assist the man pushing the wheelchair. Tree is 28 from the edge of the path and leaning in to the road. It has a TPO against it. Roots are also lifting the pavement making it uneven underfoot. Path too narrow to accommodate disabled access. It is also problematic for children on bikes and those with wheelchairs. Issue reported to WMDC by myself ref no CAS588727, they state that it is a Highways England issue.

A hole forming in the road
31st March
There is a hole in the road just at the junction of highfield avenue and Mill hill lane. Not sure how long it's been there but there is a space underneath - i imagine it would cause a serious problem if left

Deep pot hole leading to Morrisons carpark
2nd December
The pothole spans the width of the road leading to Pontefract Morrisons carpark and council car parks. It is very deep as seen in picture (it had been raining but shows how deep it is) and when cars go through it, it will eventually cause damage. There is no way cars can avoid it and has been there for a number of months.

Deep Hole
4th November
Because Station Lane hasn't been cleared of leaves it's difficult to determine where the kerb is and one of the bollards has been removed and the hole left open but hidden by the leaves. I'm sure this hole was there at the back end of summer.

Park on the pavement
4th October
This car is parked on the pavement which is obstructing people who use this route on motorised scooters and wheelchairs, a search shows it has recenlty been taxed but the mot is due shortley, yet it has remained here for over two weeks, and over previouse months it has moved occasionally but always spends most of its life here, we are also unable to park our own vechicles outside our own house

Traffic
25th September
There are more vehicles on Pontefract pedestrian precinct than there are on Southgate. Cars short cutting from Jubilee Way at Haribo to the Infirmary instead of going to the town end roundabout. Parcel delivery drivers and the food delivery drivers who actually pip their horns for pedestrians to move. When I asked a Police Officer in the town centre about it, he said it was down to pressure on the council from Greggs for their delivery drivers to have continual access to their shop or they would close the shop. Taxis park on the double yellow lines, the footpath and the zig zags for the Pelican crossing on Finkle Street causing traffic flow problems especially when buses are present. Are these people above the law?

Bad parking
15th September
Footballers and spectators are parking half on and half off the pathway all the way along and round a bad bend. To add to the chaos a vehicle has parked right up to the wall on opposite footpath. I am a mobility scooter user along with a few others on the estate and my only option this morning was to ride along the already dangerious road. I pollitely asked one of the drivers parked on the blind bend if they would consider parking elsewhere next week, his responce was nobody can stop me and i will park where i like. There is a car park provided at the far end of the sports field for users of the pitch

Dog mess, litter, overgrown bushes and a footpath that is uneven and subsiding towards the railway line make this a very unsafe route from Northfield Drive to Baghill Bridge. This problem is worse at night due to lack of lighting
