Behind the safety barrier on the exit slip road of Charnock Richard services northbound, deep hole left behind most likely by a post removal. Our roadside technician fell into it at night and broke his hand on the safety barrier last week.

Liverpool Road
West Gillibrands
The entire length of Liverpool Road needs to be resurfaced. Every time I travel along this road to Green Island roundabout on Railway Road, the tyre pressure sensor is activated on my car regardless of how slow I am driving. Liverpool Road is one of the worst roads to drive along in Skelmersdale.

Giant hogweed
24th June
The central reservation between Charnock Richard and the M58 turn off has 6 or 7 areas of giant hogweed growing in it. This is invasive and can grow to over 5 mtr in height. It is in flower now and will soon go to seed if not dealt with and could continue to spread. Scotland has a major problem on the M74 due to this invasive plant

Lane 1 extremely uneven in HGV tyre track area
14th April
Northbound Lane 1 north of Charnock Richard services is badly needing resurfaced. I'm a HGV driver and when in lane 1 northbound the HGV is all over the place as the road is sagging in the same way as a farm track does where HGVs have driven over it.. It's going to lead to an accident one of these days unless it's resurfaced. It might not be noticeable in a car or a van.

Road floods and becomes impassable whenever we get heavy rain. This is because the gully under the road has not been cleared this year.

Bedsheet tied to side of footbridge north of charnock richard services
8th March
A bedsheet with some writing on it has been tied to the footbridge north of charnock richard services, it is tied up over the northbound carriageway so that the writing is visible to northbound traffic. I am worried that it could cause a serious accident if it came loose and landed in the carriageway or on a passing vehicle.

Large pot hole 500mm square and 200mm deep on exit / slip road to highway
15th January
There is a large pot hole which has been growing for over 12 months on the exit of the southbound charnock services. It stated at roughly 200mm square but is now roughly 500mm square and 200mm deep.
I visit here regularly and the problem has never been attempted to be rectified.
Tonight because of the rain the pot hole was full of water and visibility was not good because of the poorly lit carpark and my car has hit it causing shock to the rack on my roof and caused my bike rack to crack and the bike to fall off and damage my car.
I will be putting in a seperate claim for this once reported

Erosion of the edge of the road
27th January
There is a stream down the edge of the road contained within a ditch. Whenever there is heavy rain the stream becomes much bigger and sometimes floods the road. The water has been eroding the edge of the road for years, but it is getting significantly worse. The large bin wagon will no longer come down the lane and we get regular complaints from delivery men about the state of the road. We are concerned the road wil eventually become dangerous even for cars and that someone will drive into the ditch. Also if tge bin men won't come down the lane in their wagon, what about emergency vehicles such as fire engines? I have reported it to the council.
