Junction of Lady Drove and The Drove (aka Barroway Drove), at Barroway Drove, near Downham Market.
There is a car tyre dumped next to the BT cabinet at this junction, (see photos).
It would be spiffing if you coddle remove it.

Road surface breaking up (2)
29th November
Please refer to NCC refs:
ENQ-729954-D8G3Q0 (Previous report of this defect)
&
ENQ-729956-F9G8R8 (Edge of road subsiding nearby).
These two reports are about a car's length apart and were reported at the same time, (see ref numbers).
The other defect was allocated ref ENQ-729956, which was 2 reports later than this one (ENQ-729954).
28 11 24, the other repair was completed, with the area being resurfaced, giving a great improvement, yet nothing was done about this defect and it remains in need of repair. Why the heck was this one NOT programmed for repair at the same time?, given that your crew and resources were all here for the other defect.

Road surface breaking up

Lady Drove, Barroway Drove. About 70m down Lady Drove from its junction with 'The Drove' (aka Barroway Drove/Barroway Drove Road), roughly opposite 'The Anvil'.
An area of road surface beside a drainage gully, at the foot of telegraph pole 1, is breaking up and the lower level of roadstone is clearly visible. This area is frequently used as a passing place by HGVs and other oversized vehicles, hence the damage.

Junction road markings erased
4th September
Barroway Drove. PE38 0AJ.
Junction of Lady Drove with 'The Drove' (aka Barroway Drove).
The 'give way' markings at this junction are severely worn and, for the most part, non-existent, (see photos).
This is mainly caused by the number of HGVs, and similar large vehicles that negotiate this tight and narrow junction every day.
The view, when pulling out of the junction, is somewhat compromised, making the need of clear 'give way' markings all the greater.

On Thurs, 29 08 24, the verges of this road were cut by (I assume) a contractor to NCC Highways.
In the process of this work a concrete service chamber (Manhole), in the verge and just next to the road itself, has been severely damaged. The cover has been broken and dislodged from its surround, exposing the chamber below, and a hole which is 600mm deep and contains wiring.
The damaged cover is partly obscured by the cuttings left in the process and is a significant hazard to all road users, particularly pedestrians/dog walkers, who have no pavement and must move on to the verge to avoid vehicles.
Please fence off this hole until such time as it can be properly repaired.
NB. This is NOT the same damaged service cover that you identified and coned on 30 08 24, this is another that has been damaged in the same way.
This report relates to a cover on the opposite side of the road, about 100 metres from the one you have coned/fenced.
This cover can be found by looking for the short wooden stake with a yellow top that has been placed in the verge to warn pedestrians, (see photos).

Highway damaged
16th April
Lady Drove, Downham Market. Roughly half way along Lady Drove and midway between Barroway Drove and Tile Farm.
A vehicle, (possibly an agricultural vehicle), has left the road and entered the field at a location that is not intended for such access. In so doing it has caused damage to the edge of the road surface, making it crumble at one of the locations where the road is already subsiding into the field, (see photos). This damage is not far from the 'bend in the road' warning sign.

Deformed road surface caused accident
10th April
Lady Drove, Downham Market. Look for 'SLOW' painted on the road just BEFORE entering the 40MPH speed limit for Barroway Drove, (heading from the A1122 toward Barroway Drove).
On 12 02 24 partial subsidence of the road at this location was reported to NCC Highways, and allocated NCC ref: ENQ-686692-Z5Z6P2.
On 15 02 24 NCC Highways stated that it had no intention of doing anything about this defect:
(Quote) 'No action has been taken at this time but we will continue to monitor the problem -We have assessed that the defect does not currently meet our intervention criteria. We will continue to monitor as part of normal scheduled inspections' (Unquote)
It came as no surprise to anyone familiar with the condition of this awful road that on Monday, 08 04 24, a car driven by someone who was unfamiliar with the condition of this awful road, ended up in the ditch, (see photos) for the following reason:
Where the edge of the road is subsiding into the ditch it has caused a ridge to form in the road surface, which can snatch to the left, the steering of any vehicle caught by it, toward, or as in this case, into the ditch.
Those who know this road will take to the centreline or even to the opposite side to avoid this danger.
Fortuitously, this was not a fatal accident.
Please repair this dangerous defect before another, possibly more statistically-significant accident occurs here.

Road subsiding into deep ditch
12th February
Lady Drove, Downham Market. Look for 'SLOW' painted on the road just BEFORE entering the 40MPH speed limit for Barroway Drove, (heading from the A1122 toward Barroway Drove).
At the left side of the road, where 'SLOW' has been painted on the road, the edge of the highway is subsiding toward the ditch/drain which runs alongside the road. Look too for a rut in the verge beside the subsiding section, where an HGV recently left the road and almost ended up in the ditch.
Please see attached photos.
Lady Drove was partly closed earlier this month for much-needed repair work to similar defects, but this section was missed, despite having been previously marked by NCC for repair.
A disproportionate number of HGVs use this feeble road, which probably goes a long way to explaining this subsidence.

A1122. Road surface disintegrating

A1122 flooded again due to blocked gully
9th February
This is a recurring defect.
This gully was cleared fairly recently but it has blocked yet again.
A1122 at junction with St Johns Way, Downham Market.
Drain/gully in the centre of the roundabout, directly opposite the A1122 exit with the level crossing, is blocked or slow running, causing the roundabout to flood whenever there is rainfall. SEE PHOTO.
Often, about half the width of the road floods, as in the photo, but in heavy rain the entire width of the road can flood.
Being on a roundabout, this is a serious hazard, particularly to motorcycles.

Pothole has returned
again.
Lady Drove, Downham Market. Toward the A1122 end of Lady Drove, very close to the 40mph/NSL signs, (near Poplar Farm).
This area has been repeatedly reported to NCC Highways because the road is collapsing and has become dangerous as a result.
Vehicles trying to avoid the centre of the road where the degradation is at its worst, take to the edges of the road. As a result of this, a previously patched pothole at the edge of the road has again opened up into deep pothole.
A further danger is presented by the lack of drainage at this location, so that any rainfall causes the formation of a large puddle which then hides the presence of this, significant pothole.
