The full closure of Piccadilly Underpass in both directions is causing insufferable congestion on Piccadilly, Park Lane, and all surrounding roads with traffic frequently at a complete standstill. The underpass has been closed on and off for several years now, yet theres little sign of meaningful progress.
How long can it realistically take to carry out the required works? Theres been no clear communication on whats being done, why its taking so long, or when its expected to finish. For such a critical route, the lack of visible progress and transparency is incredibly frustrating for everyone who relies on it.
At the very least, there needs to be a public update outlining what work is actually happening, why its taken years, and when the underpass will finally reopen permanently.
