Lack of parking for Lyelake & Overdene Walk
11th April
Old rubble in the centre of Lyelake already having to be used as parking hasn't been tarmaced in over 30 years. The space could be used to the ever increasing demand for residential parking removing the square in overdene and extending it to the old rubble creating parking which has been mentioned for over the last 10 years and nothing has come of it. Locals have filed council paperwork to request this several times and yet no reply or no work done to resolve the issue. The same issue is in overdene walk people having to park on the grass because there isn't sufficient parking spaces

Works at East Lancs Rd – Moorgate Road North: Loss of safe passage for pedestrians and cyclists results.
4th March
This is a key route for commuters going to and from the surrounding Industrial Estates, and Aintree and Walton Hospital. Whilst struggling to cross safely myself Ive already seen struggles and near misses, even though the works are only several days old. Already Ive seen a car attempting to the wrong way up Moorgate Lane, and image IMG_20250304_164058 shows a pedestrian who had just walked along the open road against the flow of traffic (fortunately there were no cars oncoming vehicles at that moment). Many commute through here, some along the bridleway extending from the Knowsley M57-Valley Road Interchange to Ribblers Lane.
Unless something is done to re-establish safe routes for bikes and pedestrians deaths seem inevitable.

Water leak affecting commercial units
13th January
Unit A and B Acornfield Road, Knowsley Industrial Park, KIRKBY, Knowsley, L33 7AS, have oil interceptors. Maintenance was completed towards the end of last year and both interceptors are pulling thousands of gallons of water. There is no water leak within the occupiers units, their water supply is unaffected. It seems the issue is coming from off-site, potentially a water pipe with the main road (Acornfield Rd) or neighbouring site. We are concious that the volume of water is impacting the oil interceptors as well as potentially causing erosion to the earth/ground over time, which could cause further issues in the future. We are unable to investigate this issue further as it is outwith our title.

Empty land
old all saints site
Site has been left to become overgrown, build a new school with a SEN department, the old school site used to have three buildings and included a pool and various sports halls. Kirkby kids are being denied access to schools in the local area and getting sent much further through the borough, which is unacceptable. Kirkby used to have three high schools and a collage, it almost feels like the council put barriers in place to make it as hard as possible for students.
