The temporary signs for the Hadleigh Show on the A1071 are obscuring oncoming traffic as cars wait at the junction from Coram Street. Cars coming up the hill on the A1071 can be travelling at speeds of up to 60mph.

Missing drain cover

The drain grating cover is missing. The drain hole is deep and about a meter from the edge of the road. It could easily damage any vehicle going over it and is very dangerous for pedestrians.

Multiple Worsening Potholes along long stretch of road
16th February
On A1071 on the remote bends where no hedgerows etc, on Sudbury bound side of road in travel path if nearside wheels.
Means cars are either swerving to avoid or risk being forced into path of oncoming traffic when making contact with wide/long/deep potholes!!! Even those previously repaired are failing again alo g with the the drain grid surrounds!!!!

either poorly filled in or missed and some yellow painted but not dealth with
Some pot holes filled in with lumpy poorly temped tarmac. There are also numerous potholes ringed with yellow paint, been there so long that yellow paint faded. Also new potholes have appeared some deep and long in between the already reported potholes. SURELY as this area of Main road is unlit it should be prioritised

Despite frequently requesting the removal, the post are still in place representing a serious hazard to motorcyclists. If I left my wheelie bin on the path you would soon issue a fine. GET THEM REMOVED, THEY ARE ILLEGAL AND A HAZARD.

On winding, hilly section of road in Wilderness. In excess of 12 potholes affecting both directions. With only a. Couple of larger ones marked. Others now getting bigger & deeper and hard to avoid with either side of car wheels. Drain cover sudbury bound makes clackerty noises.

Erection of illegal metal posts

Metal post have been set into the verge, illegally, by some do-gooder they wanted to enforce an arbitrary speed limit. The post that have been left on the verge are now a hazard to motorcycle riders and road users alike. Please get them removed ASAP.

40mph speed limit - new signage
4th January
It appears over the Christmas period a number of 40mph signs have been installed along the B1115 (Semer village) indicating the speed limit here has been reduced for the national speed limit, however there is no indication when the national speed limit recommences (eg no signage) 2 individuals were spotted installing the signs between Christmas and New Year wearing high viz coats, however no vans or logos.

Resident reported icy road and not sure if there is a grit bin. Wondered if road can be gritted.

Resident reported icy road and unable to get off estate. They wondered if the road could be gritted. We advised that estate roads are not usually a priority as SCC concentrate on the main roads but that there may be a grit bin on the estate he could make use of. He asked if we could bring this to attention anyway.

Fallen tree across only footpath up gallows hill
also not wide enough down part's of path for pushchair and wheelchair
This footpath is the only one up gallows hill, it is presently blocked by a fallen tree and also the path goes very narrow at the bottom end due to overhanging nettles, brambles and other tree rubbish which means a pushchair or wheelchair cannot use it, we have a care home at the top and some of the residents cannot get out due to the state of this path.
