The DD7 postcode district mainly covers the West End and its surrounding areas. It borders the DD1, DD2 and DD3 postcodes in Dundee and the PH2, PH12 and PH13 postcodes in Perth. The postcode area includes some of Dundee's most affluent residential areas, as well as its industrial and commercial centre.

The area boasts a number of attractions including the McManus Galleries, the Verdant Works, Discovery Point and the RRS Discovery. It is home to the West End Village, which is a mix of convenience retailers, cafes, and independent shops. The popular West End Beer Garden is also located here.

The DD7 area is well-connected with a range of buses and trains accessible from the city centre. It is also convenient for getting to and from the nearby Edinburgh and Glasgow airports. Dundee's excellent universities, hospitals and sports facilities are also easily accessible from DD7.

The area is served by many local primary schools, as well as secondary schools such as Craigie High School, St John's RC High School, and Braeview Academy.

DD7 offers a range of leisure activities for residents. There are two parks in the area Craigie Park and Lochee Park which are popular with families. There are also a number of walking and cycling trails, as well as water sports including canoeing and sailing on the River Tay.

The DD7 area is home to a number of businesses including Computerland, a popular computer store, and BBL CCTV, a CCTV installation company. Local pubs that serve the area include the Traverse Inn, the Spitfire, and the Bank of India. There are also a few local restaurants, including La Cousina and The Sultan.
