Street light has been out for months, 25th February
Reported this street light (No. 4, Cemetery Rd) and 2 others (on Kirkgate & Norby) at same time, back in January 2024. The N.Y. Council lights were fixed within days but this light apparently comes under a different jurisdiction and although it has been reported 2x more times since then nothing has been done to rectify the issue. This stretch of the road Is covered by tall trees and has high walls either side and is very dark at night without light.

Traffic calming measures, 3 x unlit/marked chicanes, 20th December
The three chicanes on Cedar Road YO73HF are dangerous in the dark or during heavy rain. They have no visible reflective markings on them, the road is unlit, and if units on the industrial estate have their security lights on you cannot see the obstructions until you are a few feet from them. There have been several incidents where drivers have hit them including my car, which sustained damage to both offside wheels and tyres, the OSF track control arm, both pedestrian collision protection airbags, and both bonnet hinges. I have photographic evidence of the damage caused and once I get my car back from the garage I should have dash cam footage that shows I was traveling between 20 and 15 MPH. There was heavy rain and a floodlight from the end of the road shining directly towards oncoming traffic. Any form of reflective marking on either the kerbstones or on the chicanes would have prevented my accident and others. Along with other residents who have suffered damage to their vehicles, I will be claiming for the damage caused to my vehicle. I did speak to my motor insurance group but they would have written the car off as the cost for new/secondhand parts was not economically viable, I opted to have the vehicle fixed myself so I did not incur an increase in my motor insurance premium, and I am also a named driver on three other policies. The Chicanes have been an obstruction for as long as we have lived there in September 2023. Someone is going to be seriously injured if action isnt taken to rectify this safety issue. If there is snow in the area, drivers will have no chance of seeing the obstructions.

Manhole cover uneven, 16th August
Complained to supervisor of works in the road and Yorkshire Water 4 weeks ago and was told it would be sorted by 11th Aug 22 After completed road works the manhole cover it uneven (right outside our house) and every time a vehicle drives over it it 'clunk clunks' - all day and night. Tried calling Yorkshire Water number again to follow up complaint (01274 202850) and an answer phone message tells you they 'tried to contact you today'. No, they didn't! It doesn't matter what telephone number you call from, landline or mobile, the message is the same. Try it!
