18 inch by 12 inch pothole on southern side of carriageway, 25th January
The size of the pothole is gradually increasing as a result of tyre impacts. Hole has been present for >6 months but has become more significant in last 2 months.

Road flooded in two places, 2nd January
The road is flooded in two places and has been for over a week. One flood is approx quarter mile long which is the pouring into another flood at the junction with back lane. That flood is approx 20foot long. This is only going to get worse with the rainfall over the next 24hrs.

White lines at junction 50 A1 roundabouts have faded or disappeared this issue has been a few months but it is particularly dangerous with dark wet and foggy nights

No grit in grit bins, 9th January
The grit bin at the junction of Carr Lane and Dishforth Lane is almost empty. What grit there is left is now covered in water. Could we please have some more grit.

Fly tipping and disposed Christmas trees in the layby on the A61 between the A1m and Baldersby.

Extensive litter along verges, 18th January
The entire stretch of road between Sharon and the A1 junction is strewn with litter. This is at its worst where lorries park (illegally) on the road side between A1 junction 49 and Hutton Grange Cottages. It is a diabolical eyesore.

Potholes around drain cover, 4th March
Potholes along gutter. Rain does not go down drain but forms large dirty puddles. When two vehicles pass the one at The White House side sprays filthy mud across the front of the house, the front door and windows. Its been like it since we moved in 4 years ago but is gradually getting worse.

Constant problem with Dog Fouling, on pavement outside Sunnybank houses Nos 1 - 4, 20th November
For at least a year there has be a problem with dog owners allowing there dogs to foul on the foot path outside the houses on Sunnybank Nos 1 - 4. There is an issue with the dog fouling occurring right outside people gates, causing it to be step in etc.
There are children from the age of 2 living in these houses and the fouling issue is a concern as they do not understand that this is dog mess and might pick it up etc.
This fouling then has be cleared up by the residents, which is an unpleasant job and is not there responsibility.

Rubbish Dumped by Gypsies, 12th May
Large amount of rubbish dumped by gypsies who stayed at the end of Shambles Lane for about 3 weeks. Also the life saver ring has been thrown around. Every time the farmer locks this gate, the gypsies cut the chain and stay here for 2-3 weeks.

Persistent rubbish left in and around lay by, 1st March
Lay on A61 just before A1 flyover at junction 50 (Thirsk side). An on going problem (more more than a year) of vast quantities of rubbish dumped in lay by and surrounding area. Plus Damage to grass verges caused by Heavy Lorries.

Travellers, 26th May
Came over the motorway bridge and noticed a group of gypsies occupying the motorway spill pond area and the dead end road that is now farm access to the fields on Rainton Common. There was a open fire and rubbish around the place.

Bridge Parapet damaged, 19th February
Someone has hit the bridge parapet and pushed it over into the stream. It was done sometime between wednesday morning & friday morning, as I didnt drive this way on Thursday.
