The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of YO7 1FZ:
Road sign at junction Dondeen Road and Station Roiad, 25th April
I've just witnessed a lorry reverse into the give way sign and knock it over. It's now leaning at an angle over the pavement and the sign is no longer readable from the road.
The lorry's registration plate is PJ72FBK and I have a photo if you want to use it for insurance claim.

Street light out, 25th February
Light on corner of Kirkgate and Marage. Old style lamp with modern fitting. Awkward to see and to be seen when crossing the road between tactile paving, as there is very little light on that corner of the junction. Light gas been out for about 2 months. Reported to N.Y. Council in early January.

Street light has been out for months, 25th February
Reported this street light (No. 4, Cemetery Rd) and 2 others (on Kirkgate & Norby) at same time, back in January 2024. The N.Y. Council lights were fixed within days but this light apparently comes under a different jurisdiction and although it has been reported 2x more times since then nothing has been done to rectify the issue. This stretch of the road Is covered by tall trees and has high walls either side and is very dark at night without light.

Flytipping in parking bays and along the fence in Bakery Car Park Thirsk, 4th September
The rubbish in the car park is getting worse, it used to just be a bin taking up parking bays. But over the past few weeks it has increased to bin bags, veg baskets, old bollards, bits of broken equipment etc. This is close to the river and if not sorted soon it will attract vermin

Road closure on York Road adjacent to Thirsk Industrial Park, 17th April
This road has been closed since the beginning of January (of course it began many months before that). It is totally unacceptable and is costing the economy around Thirsk a huge amount of money. How long is this going to go on? There has been absolutely NO information about times and length of the project. It would be interesting to find out as a HUGE rate payer, the price you have paid for this terrible road maintenance that has taken far too long.

Road closure, 30th March
The A19 is closed overnight and you are diverting traffic passed my house on Stockton Road Thirsk. I was not informed of this closure or even consulted. You should have determined a method of carrying out these works without closing the road and having an impact on residents of Thirsk. I have not been able to sleep at night whilst the closure is in place. What action are you going to take to resolve this situation and show consideration for residents.
