An ever increasing amount of potholes, 29th January
Throughout the village of Elvington there is an increasing amount of potholes. These potholes start when driving into Elvington over sutton bridge and continue throughout the village until you leave through the other end. They are on all areas of the road and you are forced to try dodge them, weaving across the road in an unsafe manner has become necessary. Just recently a large pothole which has now been filled in caused serious damage to my vehicle however it appears they didn’t think to address the rest of the main street. Some potholes are becoming very deep and dangerous. Someone needs to be sent out to review the village main street.

ANother pothole (No. 3 of 3 reported), 23rd January
Several potholes have appeared down Dauby Lane over the last 2-3 weeks, but three of them are particularly deep, large, and dangerous -- all of them are in the left hand lane as you head towards Elvington from the A1079.
1). The first one is near the centre of the road just outside the entrance to H. Beever's Old Farm, approx. 12in x 6in and at least 1-2in deep.
2). The second one, and by far the most dangerous, is further down the road as you head to Elvington, and looks like a star-shaped slab has been taken out of the road -- approx 36-40in x 24-30in (yes, 3.5 ft by 2+ ft) -- the depth is uneven, but at it's centre it is at least 2-3 inches deep[thought I busted my tyre when I hit it). THIS IS A SEVERE ROAD HAZARD.
3). The third and final one, is just opposite the tiling/brick company (approx 250-300m before the school) -- it is a little off to the left of the road and avoidable as long as there's no oncoming traffic, and this is relatively small but deep, approx. 9in by 4in but at least 1-2 inches deep [looks like a chunk of rock has been upended]

Heavy Vehicles cause bad vibration on houses here, there is trench that was dug across here when they built Wheelwright close which shortly after the vibration got worse, it seems to be when the large vehicles hit this that causes the vibrations, although this area of road does need a resurface.

I have forwarded a letter to John Harland of East Riding Council bringing up various matters regarding the excessive road noise and vibration through the village. The situation is now becoming unbearable, the use of the road by heavy goods vehicles is unacceptable and we request that the council now take action.
