FIXMYSTREET IN W1D 2DQ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of W1D 2DQ:
Entrance to Red Lion Square, 2nd May
The new traffic calming at the entrance to the square is so steep and severe that it is a danger to cyclists. This morning the roads were wet and when turning into the square my bike hit the hump and skidded on the slippery surface. Fortunately, there were no vehicles behind me, otherswise the incident could have been more serious. The design needs to be reviewed and amended to make it safe for all users.

Pothole/sinkhole on east side of Ossulston St, 1st May
Increasingly large - not sure what to call it! - mini sinkhole?! The road surface has sunk, leaving a pothole-sized circular depression in the east side of the street outside the back of the Francis Crick Institute. It's got worse lately and is also not very visible so it's a hazard to cyclists.

Street lighting in Hays Mews, 1st May
On 5 November 2023 I reported that the street lamp outside 13 Hays Mews was not working. Since then I have repeatedly reported the failure of that lamp. My report to which you gave reference 5756295 asked you to send me an email explaining why the lamp was not being repaired. 4 weeks have elapsed but you have not done that. The safety issue has now become very serious because WCC has approved the erection of scaffolding around the lamps at 38 & 40 Hays Mews so those lamps are no longer giving light at street level. Last year you removed the lamp at the corner of Hays Mews and Chesterfield Hill. So now there is no lights along the whole length of Hays Mews east of Chesterfield Hill. That's a street of residences but most of it has no pavement, so the absence of light puts residents at high risk. If at all possible, please arrange for the lamp at no 13 to work; if that's impossible, please write to me to explain why, and what action you propose to take to make Hays Mews safe

Rainwater pipe continuously floods the newly refurbished surface, 1st May
Dear Westminster City Council,
I am a resident of John Adam Street and pass by Villiers Street very frequently. The Villiers Street works improved the look & feel of the area significantly. Thank you for that.
I would like to bring your attention to a rainwater pipe located at the back of the Five Guys restaurant building facing John Adam Street. The rainwater pipe continuously floods the newly refurbished surface, please find attached pictures taken on a fairly dry day.
Please have a look at the situation and inspect the rainwater pipe – currently, there is no drainage and/or connection to the wastewater system. Therefore, the water always runs on the newly refurbished street.
This represents not only a health & safety issue due to wet and slippery surface, this is also very unaesthetic.
Kind regards,
Resident
