Flooding on New Road, just after NCMME, 2nd October
Hi,
I work at the National Coal Mining Museum.
Since the weekend, there has been a significant build-up of surface water on the A642 (between the Museum and the Garden Centre). The flooding here has completely submerged the pavement and more than half the carriageway, heading in the direction of Wakefield and Horbury.
This has created significant difficulties for any pedestrians heading to/from the Museum site from Middlestown, who have to walk directly on the road to avoid the affected area. It's also made the road particularly dangerous as people veer into the opposite carriageway to prevent driving through the water.

Illegal Parking outside Thornhill Edge WMC, 30th September
Double yellow lines on both sides of the entrance to Leith Court, yet still vehicles park on them half on the pavement when there's ample space in the Club's car park (Thornhill Edge WMC) It's a constant hazard especially when meeting cars approaching in the opposite direction making you have to brake suddenly and then reverse to let them pass. The double yellow lines are there for good reason, this needs addressing before there's a serious accident

Wall in dangerous state., 17th May
Some months ago this wall sustained some damage after a vehicle ran into it. Since then the wall has crumbled further. Last night I walked past the wall and it now appears to be in danger of falling into the little lane between Old Road and New Road. The weather seems to have caused the earth below the wall to crumble away. The whole wall could fall into the lower lane. At worse the pavement could fall away.

24 Potholes along the odd numbered side to Denby Lane Crescent, 8th March
This road receives very little repairs and is constantly full of potholes. Kirklees council always send a generic letter about how it carries out annual surveying and does throw a bag or two of tarmac in once in a blue moon. Because of the poor repairs they last about 2 months then they are back and are worse. I think I share a similar frustration that we pay direct tax from motoring via road tax and fuel which runs into billions yet very little proportionally is put into road maintenance.

Tree in back garden number 19 Valley Drive, 23rd November
Very old large Tree in back garden of number 19 Valley Drive the branches over hang towards my property and very worried it will fall onto the roof of my bungalow and general damage especialy due to the bad weather conditions at the moment ... The council cut down all the trees in the back gardens awhile ago but left this one that is more dangerous, it might be worth pointing out that the gardens at the back of the bungalows are open plan communal.
