FIXMYSTREET IN TR19 6AA
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of TR19 6AA:
Gurnick Estate signpost is missing, 15th November
Earlier in spring, the Gurnick Estate signpost that was on the corner of Tredavoe Lane and the marked on the map fork was damaged when the hedges were cut.
Although this signpost was later replaced with a new one, it was not fitted well and fell and soon disappeared.
This is the route that many delivery vans take and since the signpost disappeared we've had an increased number of delivery drivers not being able to find Gurnick Estate or calling up for directions.
Please restore the Gurnick Estate signpost at the highlighted location.

Leaves dangerously causing flooding, 18th October
The road marked is flooded on both sides due to blocked drains. The leaves are so piled up. On driving through this today on the way to Penzance the whole stretch of road needs leaves cleared from drains as the rest of the road is just starting to flood

Overgrown footpaths, 6th September
The footpaths around Higher Faugan/Tredavoe has been overgrown for months. I reported it, as did a number of neighbours, in May (and regularly since) with no improvement. I have cut as much as I can back with a secateurs but it needs doing properly. The Tredavoe to Chyenhal footpath is completely impassible. The old coffin path at the top of Tredavoe Lane to Tredavoe is so overgrown that I noted that the school young peoples trousers are wet before they even get on the bus to school. You are isolating a number of people as they like to walk to Tredavoe to the Chapel/coffee morning etc. There is no bus to Tredavoe. Therefore so much for your encouraging health and well being and being out and about more. Every time I report it CORMAC has other priorities such as the Coastal Footpath for the visitors. We-the locals- pay the precept, please let us benefit and enjoy our local environment.

Constant running water., 22nd December
This stretch of road between Drift and Buryas Bridge Garage there is a constant flow of water covering a large stretch of the road. This has been ongoing for several weeks. It appears to be coming from left side of road if coming from Penzance. There is incline from left to right on this stretch of road so this could be from natural spring, burst pipe, high water table. What ever the reason this needs to be investigated as when the cold weather hits this road will be a death hazard as this water will turn to ice. Should this happen any accident could be catastrophic as the right side coming from Penzance is a very steep, deep drop.

Tree Preservation Order application, 13th September
This is a huge, beautiful sycamore tree on Chygolder Road and it home to a lot of wildlife. We call it our 'bat tree' and we enjoy watching the bats flying from it every evening. We see woodpigeons, collared doves, tree creepers, wren, lesser spotted woodpeckers, greater spotted woodpeckers, blackbirds, thrushes, nuthatches and many others. We fear the new Waterdance development on Chygolder Road will carry on unnecessarily chopping down trees which DO NOT cause an obstruction on this road. A Tree Preservation Order needs to be put in place as soon as possible as they have already started to take branches off it which are not causing any problems to the road.

Lavender hedge taking up 3/4 of public footpath, 5th August
For the past few years the homeowners allow this lavender hedge to overtake the footpath. This means that if you are walking with children in a buggy or are a wheelchair user, you have to walk around the vehicles on the road. Many residents are unhappy about it but are afraid to approach the homeowners.

Dangerous Trees, 8th February
You have ignored numerous requests to chase up the various landowners of the trees which are dangerously overhanging the A30 between Penzance & Lands End, Today a large lorry was actually impaled on a low hanging tree, this resulted in major damage to the lorry and caused traffic flow issues on the A30 near to Drift !!! The gale force winds have also caused large branches of trees to fall on the carriage way, Why are you not doing something about the dangerous trees along this stretch of the A30, many of which look dangerous and are ready to fall onto the road, surely you as the responsible agency for the road network you have a duty to ensure the safety of all road users ? I just hope that a fatality does not occur by a falling tree, because you Cornwall Council will be responsible.

Dumping of sofa and two chairs, 27th May
A sofa and two armchairs have been dumped on the Council owned grass area next to the rank of garages at the top of Forbes Road, Newlyn. These items were first noticed on the morning of Monday, 26th May (possibly placed there the previous night). We, as close residents, would very much appreciate it if they could be removed as soon as possible. We live on a quiet, private estate and this is the first incident of its kind in this area. We do not wish to encourage further flytipping by these items being left in situ for any length of time. Very many thanks in advance for your assistance.
