Roadside Drains Blocked and Ineffective, 1st March
The problem here with 6 roadside Drains becoming silted up has returned for the 4th year in a row. Rainfall is not diverted off the road by any of the drains on the north side and eventually it just spills across both carriageways at the bottom lay-by entrance, causing a hydro-planing hazard for traffic.
On previous times this has been reported it is left too long and weeds establish in the silt, further choking the drains.

Personal/commercial waste, 10th May
We have concerns that contamination of land is occurring adjacent to our own. It appears that waste and refuse are being disposed of by burial on agricultural land.
Aerial photographs enclosed show existing waste piles, and new excavations on the land adjacent to existing rubbish piles as well as waste adjacent to our fence line, which is attracting vermin (rats).
We have not observed any household waste or recycled waste collectiin from the site since 2021.

Blocked gully, 5th November
This gully and the pipe that leads from it get blocked quite regularly. It has quite a large catchment of lane, down Rinsey Lane from the north and along the road to Porthleven from the east. There is a lot of farm traffic in the area that unavoidably leaves mud on the road which gets washed down to the gully. Obviously there has not been a problem through the summer but as before as soon as there is any appreciable rain it backs up and we cannot access our properties in ordinary shoes due to the depth of water. On occasions in the past Cormac have been out to it to little avail. The only really effective result was when it was pressure jetted but that was several years ago now.

The road exiting onto Shute Hill has eroded and collapsed at the side of St Aubyn's garage., 14th January
The heavy vehicles using this narrow side road to exit onto Shute Hill have left the road badly damaged alongside the garage of the property St Aubyn's. The area needs to be filled in because water flowing down the road is now missing the drain because of the damage. This has been reported to me as I am Clerk to Breage Parish Council.

Gorse growing through footway, 11th June
This is a recurring problem that has been going on for years with what looks like gorse growing through the footway from where Higher Road, Breage joins the A394 TR13 9PL along the footway to Trevena Cross TR13 9PY. This causes the tarmac to rise and someone has today had a bad fall. It needs the tarmac to be cut out, a strong weedkiller applied and the tarmac replaced.
