Vehicles turning left from Worston Road onto Bristol Road/A38 - this isn’t allowed, 17th April

Wed, 17 Apr 2024 13:47:19 +0100
51.224806 -2.971938

I quite often see vehicles turning left from Worston Road onto Bristol Road/A38, and this isn't allowed because of the angle of the road and the pavement. If vehicles do turn left, they're driving straight into the path of oncoming traffic and there is a bridge nearby so visibility of oncoming traffic will be obscured. It's clearly signposted that turning left isn't allowed. Also, I sometimes see vehicles turning right from Bristol Road/A38 onto Worston Road. Again, this isn't allowed and it's clearly signposted that right turns aren't allowed. This increases the risk of accidents and it also puts pedestrians at risk when crossing the road if vehicles are making illegal turns. This isn't an isolated incident and I've spotted this unacceptable behaviour on numerous occasions, so something needs to be done about it.

Large Pothole on Private Rd, 2nd April

Tue, 02 Apr 2024 16:03:09 +0100
51.221316 -2.974946

Hello, This pothole has been sitting here for over a year (& longer as you can see the pothole becoming larger on Google Maps when searching previous years!) I understand this is a private road, however I believe this has been reported to the council before & to the owners of Southwell Court Apartments (as in the Maintenance company etc) & neither could decide on who's problem it was. Could something please be done about this or us pointed in the right direction?

Road causing damage to house, 5th February

Mon, 05 Feb 2024 17:56:01 +0000
51.209738 -2.936448

Our property is circa 1890, well before the current road surfaces were built. The current road has been built in such a way that when heavy loads travel across this road, an entire section of the house vibrates and shakes. It rattles the windows, doors and is of such a vibration that is not just noise but causing amplified waves shaking the house. We can physically feel the upstairs floors shaking and creaking. We suspect the vibrations are carrying under the road, travelling across to the house and vibrating upwards into the house. There are cracks in the house and it is our belief they are being impacted by this event happening on a regular basis. We request that somebody comes out and carries out a proper survey on the effect heavy vehicles are doing to the property. It is my understanding that their impact is detrimentally impacting the stability of the house over the longer term and therefore should have appropriate measures put in place to stop the vibration into the house and land we own, or alternative routing of heavy vehicles are put into place. These is not light vibrations, it is audibly clear and the shaking is physically felt across the majority of the house. As a result, this is a serious issue for us.
