I have looked after this verge, and kept it tidy and unchanged for nearly 50 years. It already had large stones and a fast growing ground red berry bushes when we bought the house many years ago, which, I have recently cut right back, as it can grow into the road. Mine is the only verge in the area not being maintained by the council, and at 82, I have done what I can, but I now intend to leave it as is, and now, like the rest of the lane, you, I hope, can keep it under control instead, I am now much too old.

Lowes lane, 14th May
Road has been flooding heavily since before winter. Gullies on both sides of the road are blocked. Road has multiple pot holes that cannot be seen due to the water. Road is impassible by foot and I fell off my bike riding through it as I hit a pothole. Given you’ve known about it since Feb I assume you’ll be happy to settle a claim for damage to my bike from failing to fix the issue in a timely manner

Very poor road conditions to the extent that vehicles are swerving to avoid the pot holes potentially into oncoming traffic. This is become a danger to vehicles and pedestrians in the vicinity.

On Tenby Road, close to junction with Wentworth Avenue, 11th May
Large pothole has appeared after a leak has been fixed. On Tenby Road, near the junction with Wentworth Avenue. Pothole has been there for 3 months. Appears to be getting bigger and deeper with passing traffic. Unavoidable due to parked cars on the other side of the road. Other smaller potholes nearby from the same leak.

Hazelmere Avenue just past 4 Hazlemere Avenue, 11th May
The road is deteriorating and the holes have gone through to the hardcore, one hole is getting deep quite fast exposing sharp edges and the other is a long gauge with different road levels.

The pavement has deteriorated with holes now forming causing tripping. This with the unresolved water is causing slip and trip hazards. Pedestrians are having to avoid by walking on the road including large numbers of school children due to location near high school. This has been unresolved for years and is progressively getting worse and worse.

There has been recent footpath works carried out by Openreach but they have left sand bag, old plastic pipe on the footpath. The works finished yesterday lunchtime and we are still here 24 hours later with traffic lights which is blocking access to our house. Can someone please tell me when they will be removed because I have a delivery of MOT1 to be delivered which will cause chaos.

Pathway at the side of allotments, 8th May
Hedges and overgrown weeds and plants making it hard to walk on the path as it's giving small space to pass through when there are multiple people try to pass. There are lots if nettles n thorns that could hurt people and animals passing by. This route is used a lot by dog walkers n kids going to school

Speed humps just prior to the Jasmine Avenue junction, 7th May
The speed humps are crumbling away at the edges, resulting in a pothole precisely where car wheels are positioned to drive over the speed hump. As such, the car itself is lower down than it should be, and as a result the underside of the car/bumper is scraping on the speed hump. This is causing damage to vehicles and needs to be addressed urgently.
