FIXMYSTREET IN RH20 4HR
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of RH20 4HR:
Numerous dangerous potholes on Amberley Road!, 5th May
The potholes through Storrington resemble the craters of the moon! Amberley Road is a prime example with at least two very large 'craters' of at least four weeks duration, causing drivers to swerve to avoid them, not to mention the smaller holes just waiting to expand. You either risk causing an accident by having to cross the center white line or getting the car scratched by having to veer to the left and ending up in the shrubbery which hasn't been cut back enough, this has happened twice to me and damaged my paintwork. I'm getting more than a bit frustrated and angry about the whole road situation in West Sussex which seems to be one of the worst areas around.

Pothole 8” deep, 25th April
This part of the carriageway both southbound and northbound are littered with potholes which if you’re on two wheels as I’ve said repeatedly to every council official that ever replies to my complaint is life-threatening if you’re on a cycle or scooter especially at night or also if it’s filled with water

60cm by 70cm pothole over 10cm deep., 13th February
This and many more potholes have been here for months and are getting worse due to surface water constantly running down lane. Drainage gullies were put in years ago to prevent this but were never maintained and put in mud verges rather than on road edge therefore did not catch water. Lane is too narrow to avoid the potholes and are damaging car tyres and suspension.

Large potholes, 4th January
Large potholes previously covered with just stones. Huge volumes of traffic previously diverted from Manleys hill several months ago including HGV’s because of road repairs on main high street. Part of this road through to Church Street was never designed as a go through road. It has caused a huge number of potholes which need to be addressed by the council.

Evidence of potential highway surface damage, 2nd January
A repair was carried out before Christmas but was damaged the next day! Hurston Lane is being used as a HGV run to the sewage works and now the brick supplier. If you check (and my advice is you should) their are mains gas pipe line and various re-instatements that are now subsiding with potential risk due to this heavy goods vehicle traffic.
