A283 under railway bridge in Pulborough, 4th January
I smashed my car up in this pothole, took the underneath of my car, mud flaps, my engine now makes a rattling noise and not sure if my wheels/tyres or anything else is damaged. This pothole as I now understand it has been reported to the council a while ago after speaking to my workmates. Why has it been allowed to get to this size? Totally covers over with water do you can’t see it.. I am gutted my car is in a terrible state..

Massive hole across road, 4th January
The pot hole under the railway bridge is now at a dangerous point. 4 cars this am alone with burst tyres. Practically right across the road and very deep. Covered by water which hasn't properly drained so the pot hole can't be seen. Dangerous to motorbikes and cars.

Large pothole, 3rd January
There are multiple, but one horrendous pothole under the water on the westbound carriage way. The hole is so deep and I witnessed 2 cars just past the hole with flat tyres. West Sussex County Council has chosen to put 'road unlevel' signs before it. Not good enough. You could see this happening when it was dry let alone now it's wet. I can't take photos because once again the road is flooded!

Continuous flooding under bridge, blocked drains, potholes, 3rd January
For the last 10 winters there has been perpetual deep flooding under the railway bridge on Stopham Road. This stops pedestrians from getting to and from the village causing all journeys to be made by car through the water. Children have to be driven to the other side causing pollution and damage to cars. Drains on both sides are blocked and the surrounding land is being washed into them by the traffic passing through the flood water, often at unacceptable speeds. The whole area needs looking at as it is blighting the lives of the locals in that area. There are also large/deep multiple potholes hidden in the water.

Obstruction moved but not cleared., 13th April
After reporting this on the 02/12/22 and despite your notification that the issue has been resolved (12/3/23), the obstruction is still there. Having witnessed various highways attendees over the months preceding, I can only assume this is in the too difficult box. The placement of a traffic cone vicariously accepts responsibility in my opinion and pushing it further into the verge is not a fix! Two HGVs can’t pass without mounting the pavement so I would have thought removing this obstruction should help avoid an unnecessary incident. I am reporting again in the hope that it actually gets removed.
