FIXMYSTREET IN RG4 9DG
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of RG4 9DG:
Roadside drainage ditches blocked, 30th April
The 15-20 roadside drainage ditches have not been cleared for 30 years. After prolonged rain the Stoke Row Road floods and the pedestrian footpath is impassable. Who do people who live in rural areas have to put up with flooded roads for the sake of a JCB tractor visiting every 1-2 years and clearing all the drainage ditches in the parish? I recently visited Bicester village and noticed the wonderful roads, pavements drainage, there’s no shortage of OCC money for that area. There is hope though, a local old man has been digging out the ditches to alleviate the flooded road.

Consistent flooding from drain in pavement, 29th April
There is consistent flooding every time there is heavy rain, on the bend of Kennylands Road and Wood Lane (outside numbers 1A and 1, Kennylands Road). The water looks dirty and is significantly deep, and flows right over to the other side of the white line. I assume this is a blocked drain that needs clearing but it causes issues for both motorists and pedestrians.

Getting deeper and wider as cars drive into it. It’s at a spot where cars pull in to let others pass so the hole is unavoidable.

Huge lorry damaging trees and causing congestion., 18th April
I just witnessed a huge construction lorry heading towards Farrans' Widmore Park Village construction site off Blounts Court Road, Sonning Common cause complete traffic gridlock and damage several trees as it passed along the road through Harpsden and up Devils Hill. This is a single track road with passing places and is completely unsuitable for a low loader carrying a construction vehicle on the back of it. The vehicle had registration no. L5 VPH. I had to wait over 10 minutes for it to pass me and was required to reverse around 400 metres since the nearest passing places were insufficiently wide. In the wake of the vehicle was lots of debris from all of the branches of trees that it took with it as it drove along the road.
