Plastic tree guards, 15th April
Following my report FixMyStreet ref: 4321508 from March 2023, I note that the hundreds of tree guards have not been removed over a year later. The guards were several years old already when I made my first report. The guards must have served their purpose and are now redundant and are plastic litter. The large plastic guards are on a steep slope which pose a danger to road users as they will now be beginning to degrade and could fall and blow onto the motorway. Your previous report stated that they were not biodegradable. The plastic from the guards will also degrade and pollute the ground and seep into the water system adding to the microplastic pollution affecting waterways unless removed. Can you also let me know if you are still using non-biodegradable guards in ongoing work. I would appreciate it if this issue was not marked as 'closed' as with the previous log, as the issue is still there and will be until the guards are all removed. Thank you.

Cones put in road creating a dangerous pinch point, 21st March
Someone, I suspect the Iron Bull Roadhouse pub, has put cones into the road creating a pinch point with a sign saying "please slow down". These cones and signs are not highways standard and are dangerous as there is no forwarning and this is a 60mph road so a visual pinch point is a hazard.
There are a series of cones in front of the pub with other signage about parking restrictions as well.
I might understand that the pub doesn't like having speeding traffic going past it premises as it likely makes it difficult for customers to arrive and depart their premises - but they have to take this up with the council. They cannot just put cones out into the road themselves.
Please have them removed.

Kurb Collapse, 6th March
Due to Bakeshop Cafe customers driving and parking on pavement, the edge of the kurb has collapsed again, badly on one stretch, and sunken in several others. Kurb stones are now sticking out into the roadway and the pavement is sinking. This is the third time it's happened in less than a year. It's a shame customers can't park on the road rather than on the pavement.

Lighting failure worsening further, 19th January
I’ve previously reported first 3 lights failed (and you made me phone your contractor but nothing seems to happen!), then again when it had increased to 5 or 6 (your reply was that you’d ‘investigate’) - there are now 10 or 12 failed units. They cover the area along Great Binfields Road from the western end of Great Binfields Crescent (including 2 in that road) all the way to the roundabout at Harvest Way/Higher Mead and the 2 or 3 in Higher Mead itself. This is dangerous as it covers many areas where pedestrians are now walking with no light and crossing roads. Urgent action needed please! No more trying to pass to a contractor or ‘investigating’ - if this keeps going on there’ll be no lights left in this area at all!!

Eroded patch repair is now a pothole again, 9th January
Despite reporting this to the council twice when it was less of an issue (but would get worse), this previously patched section of the road has become a wheel-slamming pothole.
Only this morning I hit the pothole at 58mph and my car steering moved as the tyre and alloy slammed the damaged tarmac. This section of road is not illuminated so the pothole cannot be seen in the dark - it needs an urgent repair please.

Failed Street Lighting - WORSENING, 7th January
