Approx 100m from junction with Windsor Drive towards Shanklin, 13th May

Mon, 13 May 2024 19:38:45 +0100
50.627245 -1.191343

The manhole cover is loose, it has been like this a long time, when vehicles drive over it is like a gun going off. The noise is now much worse for local residents as windows are open with the warmer weather, and obviously with the Leesons Road diversion there is a lot more traffic using Victoria Avenue. Island Road vans have been seen parked at the location on numerous occasions, you must know of the problem. PLEASE arrange for this to be sorted asap

Dog fouling, owner oblivious, 10th May

Fri, 10 May 2024 13:01:48 +0100
50.63233 -1.171651

I have just followed this man and his dog down the Eastcliff Path next to the Mayfair Hotel, Shanklin. He released the dog from his harness at the top of the path and continued walking without looking back to see what the dog was doing. I watched the dog fouling all over the grass (despite the signs recently put up on the lamp posts by Enforcement Officer). He was too far away from me, with my dog to enable me to challenge him and offer him a bag. Just before this I had picked up after someone else's dog at the top of the path.

Vehicles parked that could involve an injury, 10th May

Fri, 10 May 2024 11:57:44 +0100
50.633345 -1.17315

There is a mobile home and a transit size van parked either side of our entrance this causes vehicles wanting to leave our premises having to go into the road blind to see if clear to exit, so far no one has yet been injured. even ambulance drivers have commented how dangerous this is. We have tried to converse with the vehicle owner but he is not a very nice man. He owns both vehicles. The local councillor has been and said that he is unable to help and said that he would get the local PC to call, this has not happened. Recently a residents friend on leaving had difficulty leaving and contacted the police who gave her a case no, INC102405100668, and advised her to contact yourselves. We would like a representative from highways to meet with me, the lead contact, to discuss the road traffic Act and construction and use regulations, and possible options to deal with this issue before someone gets seriously injured.

Insufficient turning space on the corner of Delphi Road and Beatrice Avenue, 9th May

Thu, 09 May 2024 18:20:23 +0100
50.633542 -1.171054

The yellow lines on the corner allow traffic to park right up to the turning of Beatrice Road and Delphi Road. This has included the parking of coaches facilitating customers to the Channel View Hotel. When vehicles park right up to the yellow lines the turning space is restricted and doesn’t allow other road users to access or egress either road. The yellow lines need extending further down Delphi Road at least one vehicle length.
