The A1 Southbound from Wansford to A1M is currently undertaking nightly Road closures. Why do you never use this as am opportunity to liaise with National Highways and arrange for your street cleaning team to give the verges a good clear up. You always say you can't afford to clear these roads due to the cost of lane closures etc... yet you never take advantage of current closures. Please sort this out.

Litter, 19th March

Sun, 19 Mar 2023 11:22:16 +0000
52.559138 -0.357932

The A1 from Wansford to A1M Peterborough is Huntingdonshire District Councils responsibility to keep clear of litter. This unfortunately does not happen with verges, lay-bys and central reservation full of litter and debris. The road is currently having the barrier replaced by National Highways with intermittent road closures until the summer and 24 hour speed limit of 40mph. This weekend the whole Southbound stretch has been closed. Not one piece of litter has been picked up. Why not use this opportunity to liaise with National Highways and arrange for the whole stretch to be cleaned?

Dumped equipment, 25th October

Tue, 25 Oct 2022 21:35:49 +0100
52.552807 -0.341599

Random traffic cones, sign frames etc litter the verges and central reservation. Many left for years, with constantly being dumped.. an issue throughout the network and seems to be something that you ignore. Wasting tax payers money and littering/flytipping appears high up in your agenda. National embarrassment. Are you ever going to do anything about this issue? When are you collecting the countless equipment that is left redundant everywhere? Why don't you care? Why do your workers have such an inability to clean up after themselves? All questions need answering please.

Footpath is almost impassable between Wansford station and Wayer Newton. Path runs parallel to the A1. Path is also very broken and dangerous as uneven and has large holes and trip hazards. I appreciate this is not widely used but it is in extremely poor condition

Endless amount of your dumped equipment, 9th October

Sun, 09 Oct 2022 22:49:00 +0100
52.554075 -0.342294

Too many to report individually, but my commute to work along A1 from Stamford to Peterborough and then onwards to Cambridge via A14 and M11, sees an endless amount of your dumped equipment. Sign frames empty and disused, sand bags chucked into the verge and central reservation, old broken traffic cones discarded everywhere amongst other paraphernalia. All this equipment costs money, and I'm disgusted to see it left everywhere. I can see this has been reported frequently by myself and other road users and has been an issue for many years. Work contracted out with the cost of the equipment rental included therefore your lazy workers feel no need to clean up after themselves. When are you going to clamp down on this? When are you going to collect the ridiculous amount of equipment that is currently strewn everywhere? Many equipment on my commute has been noticed as being redundant for many years. It's not even hard to find, it's blatantly obvious which equipment has been left. Please can you collect all this redundant equipment and clamp down on it being left. There needs to be action on this nationwide issue. It's a national embarrassment, and really is shameful.

Loads of temporary equipment behind, 2nd August

Tue, 02 Aug 2022 20:42:35 +0100
52.560428 -0.362607

I can see this has been reported by there are half a dozen temporary sign frames at both entrances to the village of Water Newton on the A1 Southbound. Your workers have definitely down tools and left, there isn't any works going on and the signs all need collecting. It's a massive eyesore upon entering the village and I can't see how it isn't very similar to flytipping, which is a criminal offence.
