Fence and gate across the byway, 17th December
Beachamwell RB 19. According to the Norfolk County Council online highways map, the fence and gate shown in the attached photo sits across Beachamwell RB 9. No limitation recorded in the definitive map and statement. This cannot be legally authorised under Highways Act 1980 Section 147; in any case, the structure is not compatible with byway passage. Norfolk County Council officers have paid a number of visits to the site during 2018 - even replacing the waymark tack sign attached to the gate! They should have spotted this issue, and dealt with it, before now.

Bridleway STILL blocked by barbed wire fence!, 17th December
Beachamwell BR19a at grid ref: TF 7497 0468. Wire fence right across the bridleway. This was reported to Norfolk County Council in March 2018 on https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1230804. Norfolk County Council reference ENQ-178608-B42S4. I was informed by the council's Countryside Access Officer (South) on 8th March 2018, that the offending party had been given 6 weeks to remove the obstruction. Now, more than NINE MONTHS later, the obstruction remains in situ - see photos.

Waymarking STILL absent, 17th December
Beachamwell BR 19a at grid ref: TF 7497 0468. The bridleway goes through a fence here, but the whereabouts of the path are far from apparent on the ground, to anyone unfamiliar with the locality. The Norfolk County Council is under a duty to erect signage, where needed to assist persons unfamiliar with the locality to follow the correct route of the path. The above was reported in March 2018 (https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1230796). Curiously, in spite of the subsequent installation of other waymarking in the vicinity during 2018 - including elsewhere along this same path - waymarking at this point, or anywhere near Hall Farm, has remained absent. Message to Norfolk County Council: Why haven't you waymarked here? Are you deliberately helping to ensure that the path here remains unclear on the ground? This is in direct contravention of your statutory duties.

Path overgrown, 17th December
Beachamwell Fp 13. Further to https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1230802, of March 2018 updated August 2018 - NCC ref: ENQ-268217-P2Z7C9), the path is still overgrown on its correct alignment, with a 'false', i.e. incorrect, line being maintained instead. See the recent photos attached. Norfolk County Council appears to be deliberately allowing this state of affairs to persist.

Encroachment by brambles, 17th December
Beachamwell FP 13: The path is no more than a narrow space in between brambles which are being maintained on either side. It does not take long for them to grow back across the path again, as shown in the attached photo. The path needs to be cleared to a decent width, with adjacent brambles kept in check.
