Ridiculous 40mph, 15th April
This road was the A14 and a 70mph. Now it’s 40mph. This is both ludicrous and dangerous. Let me explain, the road is a dual carriageway with a metal central reservation. No work men, no cones. Clearly those who decided this ridiculous speed have never driven it and no doubt sit comfortably in their office miles away from Huntingdonshire. Or they are in Huntingdonshire and have some warped idea about road speeds. There is also no justification for it. Please stop the speed limit and revert to the national speed limit. People in general ignore it and no doubt this fills the coffers of the Police.

40 mph speed limit here is dangerous and not appropriate for the road or usage., 10th April
As above. Limit is not appropriate and risks accidents - especially as it gets busy and heading towards the station. It should be graded, 60!, 40 etc.

40mph signs, 10th April
A1307 - This road has always been national speed limit and was reduced to 40mph due to barrier safety (due to be replaced?) this road had been 40mph for over 2 years now. Why is it remaining as a 40mph stretch of road when you are leaving Huntingdon and joining a national speed limit dual carriageway all the way to Cambridge? I understand the speed limit will need to be reduced when approaching Huntingdon but it doesn't need to be reduced until you are are closer to the junction to turn to either the train station or town centre.

40mph now permanent?, 10th April
Residents of Godmanchester have just been informed by one or their councillors that the "temporary" 40mph speed limit will now be permanent. Can National Highways confirm this is correct, as this does not seem to align with the following: 1) The temporary restriction was in place for barrier repair works (which seem to have been delayed due to transfer of ownership of the A1307 to Cambridgeshire County Council. These were may be carried out in March 2023); and 2) During the A14 Improvement Schemes, signs were installed on the Eastbound carriageway from Huntingdon to Godmanchester showing a national speed limit sign (these were covered up due to point 1) This issue has been plaguing residents of Godmanchester and Huntingdon for far too long. Please can National Highways and Cambridgeshire County Council issue a joint response on when they intend to make the repair works and their intentions on the permanent speed limit once the works are completed.
