The road is too narrow for HGVs., 21st August
The road is too narrow for HGVs because of the houses and pub built in early 18th century. HGV trucks continually mount curbs to pass and have damaged road signs and pavements in the process. The road is used as a rat run and at all times of the day the house vibrates as speeding vehicles pass. Ours is newer house with cracking to floor and walls the old houses are somehow still standing.
The issues were palatable whilst the A14 updated and Ely bypass were being constructed but now the raids are still used with over 180 gravel trucks and other construction vehicles per day cutting through.

Barking dog, 30th September
There is a large/ loud dog barking somewhere in the vicinity quite early in the morning. Not a problem during the conventional working week at 7.30/ 8am, however it also barks early in the morning at weekends. E.g. last Sunday the 23rd, ir barked non-stop from 745am-8.15am. I've not had a proper sleep-in on a weekend for weeks. This Sunday it barked at 8.15am, this time for a much shorter time, but it's a very loud bark. It's now a regular thing, so the owners obviously don't think they're doing anything wrong. Saturdays sometimes too. Isn't the time on weekends supposed to be 9am before you start making a noise? Maybe they just need to take it out for more runs or something?

Pothole needs repairing, 22nd February
There is a pothole just outside the driveway of Macalcrae, High Street, Colne. It was one large and two small holes but is now nearly one 6ft long hole. There are always cars parked adjacent to it so it is getting traffic from both ways. It is now beginning to throw out 2 inch pieces of the road into the driveway of the above property. The pothole has been there for at least 3 months but is getting worse by the day. A repair was made the other day to the original larger hole but this has not worked and is already coming out.
