Deep mud in dip of road at the bottom of hill, 27th March
Mud from the nearby pig farm has now become so deep that, even when it is baked hard, it catches the bottom of normal cars. It is difficult for local residents who depend on mobility scooters to navigate, even when dry. In the wet it is impossible for mobility scooters and for people in normal footwear.

Potholes, 17th March
There is a massive pothole just near Luke Cottage which is getting bigger & as from my photos you can see the roads are not very wide so soon you will have no choice but to drive over it, ALSO there is few more as seen in my photos which needs repairing these are a little way alone the first pothole as you travel towards North Walsham it’s probably best if you just drive alone this road & investigate the whole road because this is where the heavy farm machinery travel along

Incorrect signage (Bacton RB7a), 18th February
Byway incorrectly signposted as a footpath. Norfolk County Council, please remember your duty, under s.27(2)(b) of the Countryside Act 1968, to erect a signpost showing, so far as the highway authority consider convenient and appropriate, where the footpath or bridleway leads, and the distance to any place or places named on the signpost. It would be both convenient and highly appropriate for the villages of "Knapton" and "Paston" to be included on the new signpost here.

Illegal notices (Paston FP 5), 2nd January
Notices on display, as per photo. Section 57(1) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 provides that it is a criminal offence for any person to place or maintain, ON OR NEAR any way shown on a definitive map as a public path, a notice containing any false or misleading statement likely to deter the public from using the way. These notices clearly fall under that description. Section 57(3) provides that It shall be the duty of a highway authority to enforce the provisions of this section as respects any public path for which they are the highway authority.

DANGER! Cropped public path (Paston FP 5), 2nd January
Please look at the photos. The path is cropped, with users being pushed right up against an electrified fence carrying a live current. This situation is completely unacceptable, and needs dealing with as a priority!

No signage for the public path (Bacton FP 4), 2nd January
No visible signage, at the point where Bacton FP 4 leaves the metalled U11431 road - see the first two photos. The signage shown in the third image is inadequate for four reasons: (1) it is obscured by overgrowth, (2) the roundel is faded, (3) at less than 3 inches in diameter, with text at less than 4 mm., this roundel is not clear enough to effectively indicate the path at its junction with a metalled road, and (4) there is no information on the signpost about any place to which the path leads. The path forms the only direct public pedestrian highway route from Pollard Street (Bacton) to Witton, and it is clearly highly convenient and appropriate that that information be included on any signpost, here, as per the specific requirement of s.27(2)(b) Countryside Act 1968.

YET AGAIN! Signpost leaning over (Bacton FP 12), 2nd January
Further to https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1918212 (Jan 2020) and https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/4322263 (March 2023) this flimsy wooden signpost is AGAIN leaning severely - see photos. Leaning over worse than ever! The signpost is failing to indicate the whereabouts of the path with sufficient accuracy, and its poor state detracts from the very importance of the public path as a public highway. Clearly a post of this type is prone to continued leaning. Also, there is no information on the signpost about where the path leads to; FP 12 is part of the shortest public pedestrian route between the villages of Edingthorpe and Witton, and it is clearly highly convenient and appropriate for it to be stated on the signpost that the path leads to Witton, as per the specific requirement of s.27(2)(b) of the Countryside Act 1968.

Misleading NCC signage STILL present (Bacton Fp 3), 16th November
Reporting further to https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/2787098 (June 2021). More than TWO years on, Norfolk County Council have ignored the report, and left the misleading signage in situ. There's no justification for this malpractice.
